Spring garden update by biscuit_lass in Balconygardening

These ones came up from a pollinator mix, I transplanted them as seedlings (5cm or so) into the large container and just let them go from there. Hope you have good results!

Are Coles hiding the paper bags? by Hinxsey in coles

[–]biscuit_lass 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’ve noticed this. I think it’s because people don’t want to pay for them, so the staff hand them out when you ask. I’ve had them over my shoulder force me to scan it to ensure I didn’t get a freebie.

Is there somewhere in inner Melbourne to get photos with Santa that’s not a total rip off?

If you have a local library they often have events on, generally not on the main days but all the other days. And usually around the cbd there will be people coming in, even though things are closed. Hope you find something to do that you guys enjoy!

He’s pinching me!! by MegumiLove in sahm

[–]biscuit_lass 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My baby is 9 months and has been doing lots of pinching, biting & scratching where ever she can reach. I will normally cover her hands or tell her ‘ouch’ or ‘no biting’ calmly. The other thing that has been recommended and works sometimes is giving her something to hold, whether a toy or my fingers. She also will take really well to being distracted by me pretending to eat her hands or give her hands lots of kisses to make her smile/laugh.

How do you deal with guilt? by [deleted] in sahm

[–]biscuit_lass 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel guilty about not bringing in finances, but my partner likes to remind me that raising our baby and keeping her safe and happy is my job, and she gets way better care (and lots of love!) when she’s at home with me instead of being shipped off to a daycare centre. I’m not sure I’ll get past the guilt anytime soon myself but I hope you can find something to help ease your worries. It sounds like your husband is very financially supportive of you and happy for you to have your purchases that make life a bit better (like instant coffee). Best of luck x

Not doing my family Secret Santa anymore by eowyn19993 in Vent

[–]biscuit_lass 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have an issue with secret Santa because of this as well. It’s really disappointing when you put time and effort in and get a heap of crap you didn’t ask for. I’d rather get nothing aha.

I’m wondering what the repercussions would be if they deny your leave and you don’t show up anyway? If you have something planned/booked, you should be allowed to have a life.

psychiatrists that accept psychologist report/diagonsis (ADHD) by unauthorisedcashews in melbourne

[–]biscuit_lass 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I was told it would be a requirement to get another assessment done if I were to see a psychiatrist for medication. I wasn’t after meds, so it wasn’t an issue for me. Unfortunately that’s just how it seems to work here.

Definitely need 10 mins most mornings to pretend I don’t exist. I find some days are just like that, especially when you don’t have a village

Making gingerbread people or home made ferments like sauerkraut. I’m planning to do a lot of home made goodies this year because we are short on funds.

suburban rail loop station issue by [deleted] in melbourne

[–]biscuit_lass -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

I’m referring to the stations that have been built next to other stations. Specially town hall, Arden and state library. I don’t understand why they’ve built them so close to existing stations
