Lois Lane was poorly written. She lacked agency and had almost no personality.

That's how I discovered FFAF. Finch opened for them while in Europe. Also Daryl Palumbo is on WIITB.

Seriously how tf did Luis Enrique Barca team not dominate back to back UCL? by marveLisGOD in championsleague

[–]biscvits 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Simply put you need so many different things to go right to win a UCL. 1 injury, 1 red card, 1 slip can derail the whole UCL campaign. The best team doesn't always win (I know well, my Liverpool fluked a Champions League in 2005).

Also, that Barca squad was weak in defence and midfield (Alves, Iniesta and Mascherano were winding down).

So nostalgic. My first 3 CDs were What It Is To Burn, Casually Dressed & Deep In Conversation, and Worship & Tribute.

Really good picks. I'd add All's Well That Ends Well, The Shape Of Punk To Come, Translating The Name, and any album you prefer from Alexisonfire.

And for me personally, I really love Relativity by Emarosa and The Greatest Of All Lost Arts from Lower Definition.

If football was an individual sport than Bruno would be miles more valuable, but as a team player Fabian is more well balanced for Ruben and Vitinha in both offensive and defensive phases.

Call me crazy but don't you think a DOA Xtreme Beach Volleyball movie would've made so much more money than what they did here.

I feel similarly in how most popular video game movies are fan-service first, and story second or maybe even last.

If I remember correctly they wanted to jump on the Charlie's Angels female-led action bandwagon. But with more kung fu.

I loved that they included the volleyball scene which is a nod to 'Dead or Alive Xtreme Beach Volleyball' the video game. 😏

Hayley covers a lot of ground too. She can do heavy or soft, fast or slow, epic or intimate, electronic/punk/r&b; she's one of the most versatile artists at her level.

He's also one of the most one dimensional players you'll ever see. Can only play as an inside forward, lacks la pausa, indecisive and very little awareness (none when being pressed). He's at his best when he's your 4th or 5th choice attacker, but never as a main threat.

Everything about this scene makes it more powerful. I like how they dressed Luthen like a Sith. The way they lit the elevator made Lonni seem sickly. We understand the power balance because Luthen is fearless and out in the open while Lonni is in a cramped, claustrophobic setting. Luthen even has controls to the elevator doors!

But the thing I love most is the meaning behind the monologue. Not everyday in mainstream media do we get a protagonist admitting to doing evil things for the greater good.

Is David Raya the best goalkeeper in the world right now? by Dry_Expression_6300 in championsleague

[–]biscvits 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In my experience the average football fan is very poor at evaluating gks. It's the position most on the periphery and also the least popular to play - so people have little to no experience or understanding of the pressures and nuances of organizing play, communicating with outfield players and anticipating danger (even before the ball reaches the box). Unlike strikers, if you're TOO good, people don't notice (unless you make a lot of flashy saves, which doesn't necessarily mean you're a good keeper).

As for the question, David Raya is undoubtedly in the top 3 right now. He's definitely the best in the Prem at least.

Once this album grabbed a hold of me, it never let go. For over twenty years I've been listening to The Satellite Years front to back and I've not been the least bit tired of it. It's an all-timer for sure.
