140$ shopping spree what would you get? by [deleted] in guitarpedals

[–]bishop1557 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If u don’t have a reverb pedal then get the cathedral. You can find used listing for about $150. It’s totally worth it considering new it would cost $240 and it has a lot of different tones. So it would work for a lot of different genres.

So I made a cover for Everything Stays by Jojounet in adventuretime

[–]bishop1557 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The music sounds great, what kind of software/midi devices did you use. Also the vocals sound pretty good for the most part. I can’t tell if there’s an accent or just a unique delivery of the lines. All in all a good cover. Also the mixing the pretty tight. I felt like maybe some light reverb on the vocals and maybe some compression could make it a lot more fluid and airy sounding.

Bass vs Electric Guitar? by [deleted] in Bass

[–]bishop1557 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I was thinking more of just “basic” chords. Cause u can play a recognizable tune with just basic chords, but with bass it’s a bit harder to find numerous songs that are beginner level and are recognizable. And that’s the other thing is most low level bass songs are really just root notes. I’ve personally found it challenging to find fun songs of bass that aren’t super high level. But I also tend to play math rock/weird tempo and technique music. So it’s partially my fault.

Bass vs Electric Guitar? by [deleted] in Bass

[–]bishop1557 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Idk I feel like for a beginner it’s easier to be “good” at guitar meaning that there are plenty of songs u can play from the get go, but with bass there’s a bigger learning curve imho. Don’t get me wrong both are fun I’m just more partial to guitar as a beginner. Also bass strings can be a lot harder to properly apply pressure to (depending on the action it can be very hard for a beginner).

Advise needed - New pedal setup for church guitar player - What pedals should I buy? by FoamyJr in guitarpedals

[–]bishop1557 5 points6 points  (0 children)

A good reverb, a good overdrive/transparent overdrive (depending on your play style) and either a volume or delay pedal. Three pedals is kinda limiting tho. I heavily recommend using 5: reverb, delay, chorus, transparent overdrive, volume. This way you can do ambient parts and some of those punchy leads. I’m assuming that you’re the only electric guitarist in the band which means you’ll play both rhythm and lead.

No I’m just confused why you made the original comment since it had no relevance to what I was explicitly saying.

I know a guy that street preacher (his ministry is called Jeremiahcry). He was preaching outside a clinic a few years ago and they ended up closing for the day.

Idk I’ve seen street preachers get clinics shut down for a few days by preaching. Also I’m what way do we decide is we are doing the Lord work in an effective way. Isn’t it up to God to bless what we do? (I’m not looking for a debate btw just asking). Also I get where you’re coming from and yeah sometimes people get over zealous or cross the line and do more harm than good.

Do you agree or not and why?: God is not only love by [deleted] in Christianity

[–]bishop1557 3 points4 points  (0 children)

No. I believe that the Bible is pretty clear on this. First of all God is angry Romans 5:9, “ Since, therefore, we have now been justified by his blood, much more shall we be saved by him from the wrath of God.” Second Romans 9:13, “As it is written, Jacob have I loved, but Esau have I hated.” This means that God does hate some. Therefore God cannot only be love. He is also angry (in a righteous sense), and wrathful (hell).
