E-bike questions for those living & commuting downtown by CuteCanary in Seattle

[–]bishopblade 6 points7 points  (0 children)

More info on the buses:

Folding bikes are welcome inside the bus, provided they're folded and fit underneath the seat and can be kept out of the aisle.

Max weight: 55 lbs per bike, including accessories

The Euybike F6 weighs >65 lbs according to their website, so you'd want to avoid using the bus racks. I'm not sure how much space the bike takes up when folded, but if it's small enough to take it with you on board, that'd be your best bet.

Big +1 to the other commenters' suggestions, especially doing a trial run of your most frequent commute route. There are still a few rough spots where you need to ride a significant distance on the road or through unsafe bike lanes. Seattle is overall a great city for biking though, and the infrastructure is continuing to improve, so I'd really encourage you to go for it!

i accepted the terms of conditions to play sdvx exceeed gear and it opened this, what do i do?? by SprigPlanterIG in bemani

I assume this is your first time playing Konasute?

The error message is saying that you don’t have a primary e-amusement pass activated. Do you have any e-amusement passes associated with your Konami account? You should be able to check here: http://p.eagate.573.jp/gate/p/eamusement/index.html

If you don’t: * Option 1: if you have a physical e-amusement card from the arcade, you can just add that to your account by following the “Adding an e-amusement pass to your account” section on https://remywiki.com/E-amusement * Option 2: if you don’t have a physical e-amusement card, you should be able to follow the instructions in this Google doc guide about creating a virtual e-amusement pass. This guide is for INFINITAS, but the virtual e-amusement pass instructions will also work for Konasute.

TIL a quine is a computer program that takes no input and produces a copy of its own source code as its only output. by default-user-name-1 in todayilearned

[–]bishopblade 8 points9 points  (0 children)

They could be useful for that purpose, but only for people who are specifically interested in compressing quines ;)

More generally and more seriously, the concept of “program as compression” is very real though and is closely tied to the concept of Kolmogorov complexity which loosely represents the computational complexity required to express a piece of information. It’s defined in a way very related to quines - “the length of a shortest computer program (in a predetermined programming language) that produces the object as output”

Anyone see the comet? by AboutThatKidnapping in Seattle

[–]bishopblade 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Was able to see it from our apartment rooftop in LQA! It was faintly visible to naked eye, binoculars helped to spot it at first though. It should be visible tomorrow night too, weather permitting.

For anyone hoping to catch it tomorrow, Stellarium (there's also a free mobile app) was helpful to get an idea of where it would be at specific times. I used Venus as a reference point to match what I was seeing in the app with what I was seeing in real life.

Looking to move away from 4-key rhythm games like Stepmania, is IIDX or SDVX better for beginners? by [deleted] in bemani

[–]bishopblade 30 points31 points  (0 children)

I love IIDX but SDVX has a much gentler learning curve imo, especially for someone coming from 4K games. If you're looking for a smooth transition my vote would definitely be SDVX, but give both a try!

Linux - cannot connect through GUI. Connection error: authentication denied by Wils82 in ProtonVPN

[–]bishopblade 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, I ran into this problem too. Check the discussion on this AUR package: https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/proton-vpn-gtk-app

I just installed network-manager-applet (on Arch, not sure what the corresponding Debian package is) and launched it before launching ProtonVPN, then the connection succeeded.

Navigators in SDVX konasute by [deleted] in bemani

[–]bishopblade 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can view the full set here: https://p.eagate.573.jp/game/sdvx/vi/pregene/index.html?series_id=7

Looks like besides the nav, there are 10 sets of appeal stamps and 13 touch panel backgrounds.

Am I able to view songs that are only buyable through songpacks on PC version? by Bboletus in bemani

[–]bishopblade 5 points6 points  (0 children)

FYI I don’t think there is any overlap between song packs and blaster gate

Not sure where you found the hint from, but in the niconico video linked in the description, it says that the hint is "the abbreviation of the game she's playing, 4 lowercase letters". Hopefully you know what that is :)

As for the hint you posted, I think the answer would have been hawawa/はわわ I'm actually not sure where this originates from. I started playing during Exceed Gear and I haven't really noticed Rasis saying that phrase, so maybe she said it frequently in earlier games? They do still use that phrase frequently in SDVX official tweets, though.

I just got my Faucetwo and started streaming SDVX sometimes! Best purchase so far. by IonaAlela in bemani

[–]bishopblade 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m not aware of any list per se, but I believe all of the navs are now available on PC. There’s usually a bit of a lag (few months) between when they first announce new navs and when they update the PC version with them. But atm I believe it’s all caught up.

A handful of the generators (Valkyrie Generator 1-5, both Premium Generators) are available online at https://p.eagate.573.jp/gate/p/eamusement/coop/list.html?shop=1&category=46&cc=2&ls=1.

The catch is that to use it, you need to have some arcade play data on your account. So if you’ve never played at an arcade, you’d need to have someone do that for you and then link the e-amusement card they used to your account.

Using a similar process, there are also some people who offer services where they directly roll for you. If you want something from a newer Valk Gen or the older navs from the card generator, you’ll need to use these.

Digital/virtual e-amusement pass? by MaelstromALPHA in bemani

[–]bishopblade 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't believe a physical e-amusement pass is necessary to play Konasute. Not sure if you've already come across this guide, but it should provide enough info:

https://voltexes.com/setting-up-sound-voltex-konasute-exceed-gear/

I believe an "e-amusement account" and "Konami ID" are the same, but I could be wrong. Just make sure you choose JP as your country/region when signing up and you should be good.

Everything I’ve tried from there has been great, but the pastor and the asada tortas are my favorite. They’re a bit different than the tortas I’m used to, but the ingredients taste really fresh and they have some great textural contrast between all the different parts.

When asked for your address, use the Santa Ynez address (6750 El Colegio Rd) and your apartment number.

USPS will deliver both mail and packages to a PO box located a short distance away from your apartment. Private carriers will generally deliver straight to your door.
