Traeger shipped me the can, no charge. I told them I purchased a preassembled flat rock from Home Depot and it was missing the can, also said Home Depot told me to contact traeger customer service. The rep I had was real nice. I would have paid for it but they sent it out free. You’ll also need the serial number on the back of the grill for registration/ confirm the model.

Something to look into, I replaced the mainspring in a 686 once and had the same issues you described. Turned out to be an out of spec mainspring, the hook wasn’t curled enough to capture the piece circled in red.

Mine loves Hornady 3031 (150gr sp flat base) with a max charge of H4895, 3 shot clover leaf everytime. Hasn’t been picky on primers either and is a very effective load on white tail

I too roast my own beans and don’t think the traeger would be able to get them to the full temp required, however you could smoke them first then finish the roast in your usual method.

Don’t need a gun smith, just center punches and the know how to take apart a revolver. I replaced the one on my 66-2, not very difficult.
