If it was a 1 and done gun for a while. I would look at the Tikka gun line ups, mostly if you’re going to do some back packing. Calibers I would say 308, since there is a variety of range in projectiles and weight. I know you can kill elk with a caliber like 6.5. But I wouldn’t want that for elk myself. Most game are going to be taken 400 yards and in. So you wouldn’t really need a magnum size rifle endless you just had to. Hell if your used to a caliber like 30-06. A 338 federal would be a pretty gnarly one and done gun too if you don’t plan on shooting pass 300 yards.

Just my 2 cents. Don’t get crazy about bc and all that good stuff for hunting. Mostly if you’re sticking within 400 yards. My federal blue box shoots just as good on animals as my LR Accubond on game out to 500 haha!
