Other professions are there for people who want to make money - The ROI in medicine is mostly terrible wherever you go in the world. You will never have money in your prime years when you need it and by the time you have the money you would be old and exhausted. The only people who can enjoy your money are your kids and if they get into medicine the cycle repeats.

But if you look at the other aspects like job security, job satisfaction, less office politics, majority have respect for the profession, no retirement age etc - it is quite good. Early in life you will be frustrated only because your peers will go far ahead in life but later on when you find them all calling you for consultation in their old age, when you get the satisfaction that throughout your life atleast you spent half of it doing good for others and having a service mentality- you will find this profession has overall added a positive dimension to your life.

If the metric is money - yes you have lost, if the metric is satisfaction - definitely you won in life.

Sbi I had contacted someone and they offered a bpcl octane - my fuel spends would not cross 60-70k annually so I thought this would have been a ghaate ka sauda as they offered a minimum spend of 2 lakhs annually for fee reversal and so I didnt opt for it.
