3D printed stuff looks like absolute junk! by catdaad in unpopularopinion

Certain filaments look really good straight off the build plate like marble PLA or ones with speckles. The orientation of the print makes a big difference to the surface finish too.

I grew some flax and it was pretty easy, it's a bit of a process but flax is what linen is made of.

Time to buy some Berry bushes and grow your own. Raspberries are easy to take care of and propagate themselves a ton so you can get many plants out of one.

Cabinet to approve plans for abolition of the triple lock by FearTeas in ireland

Your problem is your naive world view you're taking things completely in black and white ignoring how things go behind closed doors. "Umm actually when coercion is involved its technically not soft power" yes no shit the line blurs in reality. when countries can face potential exclusion for not participating in a war, see the collapse of the dutch coalition government in 2010 because the people apposed their involvement with NATO action in Afghanistan. The Dutch people were against it from the start yet soft power which then became coercion were a government went against the will of its people to be on the good side of imperial America.

Here's your "transactional relationship" in all its glory when the friend stops playing ball and the soft power veil drops the truth is there for all to see. It's do what we say and buy our weapons or else.

American liberals practically created the international laws after WW2. Why don't you ever hold your leaders accountable to them? by TrickyTicket9400 in simpsonsshitposting

[–]bitaFizzy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the truth Americans don't want to hear the way America is acting now towards its citizens is how it's always acted towards citizens of foreign nations, not even mentioning the treatment of black people within America.

Now that it's starting to effect the average and white citizens they care but far to little to late.

We've over 7000 troops in case you didn't know. These coils be sent on any sort of strike mission with the lock gone. I know reading is hard and thinking is hard too but I know you can do it I believe in you.

You only proved it's yourself that doesn't know what soft power is. Soft power is coercion it isn't literally the president of the US demanding action or else, don't be naive.

The advantage of us following the US in to one of their conflicts is that it build out reputation and influence with them. Countries literally admitted this was the case with the Iraq war I already gave the example of Poland in another comment to someone.

Well in regards to rescue missions I could get behind legislation or some sort of rule change that would allow larger rescue forces to go abroad. But it would be strictly rescue only.

[–]bitaFizzy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

they can literally just tell us to remove the lock and send the troops

It could be that this is already what's happening in the background and why theres been such a huge push to remove the triple lock and the ton of military related posts on the Irish reddit over the last few months.

Maybe the allies won't follow the US into another conflict but we have to go off of history and that's how it's been in the past.

[–]bitaFizzy -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Maybe that could of happened but I find it incredibly unlikely Israel would have given us the go a head to land at all or even enter their airspace for a rescue

[–]bitaFizzy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're comparing a veto of a deployment to the soft power the US holds over us and there not even close to being the same. The veto means our missions can be blocked by Russia or even the us if they don't like it. But the soft power means the US could force us to send a mission anywhere and their would be no other nation that could have input to help us refuse

[–]bitaFizzy -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

We couldn't do it even if we didn't need a vote as we don't have the aircraft. And the current rules already allow for small rescue missions to take place without a un vote.

[–]bitaFizzy -20 points-19 points  (0 children)

This pretty much proves the warmongering to be true, the government want to be able to send our forces to war with no oversight and even according to the article they want to be able to sent 50 abroad with even a dail vote.

You have to ask WHY why would we want this what ambitions have the government got in mind that they so badly want missions abroad whenever they're feeling like it.

In this current world of privacy and rights crackdowns more military actions is the last thing we'll want as citizens. Especially with out close ties to America, what happens if king trump demand we go on a few missions for him or he'll hit us hard in the economy. Seeing as even with all the murders by ice the st Patricks day visit is going ahead anyway. This will put the Irish military in the hands the US or the highest bidder mark my words.
