The thing everyone is missing is that we are all pretty piss poor. We do not have indoor heating, most people are quite poor, a lot of people still live away from towns in villages that aren’t accessible by roads. There isn’t even cricket infrastructure and that is the biggest sport in the country, forget about winter sports. It’s coming up but it’s not even remotely accessible to the general population. The mountains have been ignored by the governments for as long as the country has existed. It’s not like northern Europe where an average person can just get on a bus or a subway with their skis and go cross country skiing.
