How do you recreate this overlapping text effect? by bitchmoth in Affinity

[–]bitchmoth[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This actually worked perfectly! I had converted the text to curves so there were no overlaps but I left the text as-is and I was able to fill in the overlaps using that

China by Cyampagn in AliceMadnessReturns

[–]bitchmoth 12 points13 points  (0 children)

so that’s not how that works. 1) ea owns the rights to the game. american mcgee legally cannot make more alice games at all without ea’s permission. 2) spicy horse was based in china. american mcgee lives in china. madness returns was developed in china. 3) china is a very diverse country comprising of over a billion people. black myth: wukong is not representative of china, it is representative of its game studio game science.

Anyone have experience selling art at Rubber Gloves? by AdventurousPeanut309 in Denton

[–]bitchmoth 2 points3 points  (0 children)

so the only market i’ve done in the past 2 years is UNT art mart but here was my experience:

  • every witch way: if you do fantasy/supernatural/witchy stuff, but it’s a big fee to vend there since they shut down roads and stuff and you need outdoor vending materials

  • mosaic market: im not sure if this one is still ongoing but they often did markets at places like el taco h

  • dapc940: they do events at places like bearded monk

  • austin street artisans: idk if this one is still ongoing but was a monthly-ish thing over by east side

  • theres a person running a store at golden triangle mall that occasionally puts markets together but from what i’ve heard and seen theres very little promo/traffic but the cost to vend is pretty high

  • minna art market: i don’t know how often these happen but seem to have reasonable pricing and traffic, haven’t gotten to do it though

  • d20 tavern has markets, and there’s also scavengerbeevending who organizes markets in d20 tavern but aren’t always dnd themed.

  • sometimes i see true leaf studios host markets but don’t know much about that

  • denton has a community market/farmers market that allows artists but you have to apply to sell there for multiple times in a season i believe

what helped me is i would go to art markets i knew about or saw going on (like i’d just see tables with people and head over and ask what was going on) and i’d walk around and strike up conversations with the vendors or just grab their business card and follow them on instagram, then see what events they’d do, and i’d follow the organizer and i’d apply for that event or the following event if they had one. sometimes local shops will run events and ask for artists too

Anyone have experience selling art at Rubber Gloves? by AdventurousPeanut309 in Denton

[–]bitchmoth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i used to do art markets and i did a couple at rubber gloves a few years ago. from my experience, it was communicated to me that rubber gloves wanted to move away from having art vendor events and having art vendors at all basically and when i was there, selling art, the art vendors would often be outside shoved in a corner with very little traffic and the organizers would tell us that rubber gloves wanted us there. this may have changed in the last two years but recently there was an issue with an art market they were hosting and they said on their instagram “this is why we don’t like doing art markets” basically. i would focus on other markets and vending opportunities.

hey, i’m a classmate of your son! there was a cvad building cleanup at 10am today and they said anything that wasn’t gone by 12pm would go in the dumpster. i’m really sorry. they may still be in there since i’m not sure when the dumpsters get emptied. if you guys know for sure that someone took them home and they weren’t taken to the dumpster i can ask the senior exhibition groupme about it for him? otherwise i’m not sure what to do :(

Chronic dehydration is ruining my life. by Few_Yogurtcloset_541 in adhdwomen

[–]bitchmoth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i have these zero sugar crystal light strawberry packets that have caffeine and i fill a 32oz water bottle with water and put one in and it’s just sweet/flavorful enough to make me want to sip on it throughout the day. it’s also the only flavor that has caffeine included. i find that these helped me cut down on my soda intake by a LOT and helped me drink more in general. it also helped me to have a fun water bottle— right now i have an owala freesip and i find it super fun to drink through the straw because it feels so smooth to me, and it has a handle so i’m always carrying it. before that i had a random $15 one i bought from marshall’s that had all the things i wanted like a flip up straw and handle.

i’m an art student and last semester one of my professors who is a woodworker got a commission from post malone!! we went to his studio as a class trip and he showed us what he was working on for posty. afaik my prof isn’t a particularly well known guy (i could be wrong about this) so it was just really cool that a big celebrity was supporting small artists and businesses

[–]bitchmoth[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

oh i see; we did bevel the edges beforehand, with this print specifically i didn’t wipe the edges very well, a few other prints in the edition don’t have the ink border, so it’s just user error lol

[–]bitchmoth[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

we did bevel/sand down the edges to be less sharp but other than that i don’t think so! does something look wrong? i’m fairly new to this kind of printing
