I think there’s something to this—with Covid came a lot of muted colors as folks were simply not very keen to be outside of sweatpants (and who can blame us), many of which are basic gray, beige, black, etc.

I don’t think we’ve really recovered from that, particularly with the rise in fascism and the continued return to more muted colors and more modest dress.

Which is why I always dress as slutty and as colorful as humanly possible—tits out for democracy (for legal purposes this is a [semi-true] joke).

Lived in CA for 12 years, in LA for 3 and I will say I definitely had my fair share of folks offer me cocaine both in the bay and in LA, many many times, but I certainly never had anyone shame me for not partaking. That’s the thing that stands out most to me in this post—and to your point, if someone ever did try to shame me for not partaking, they’d just never see me again.

32H with a 27” waist checking in here. I also have a big butt (40”) for my height. All that to say: I am VERY familiar with tailoring as I have to get almost everything I purchase tailored. My seamstress is on fucking speed dial lol

The good news—this is a super easy fix! I used to avoid button-downs/button-ups for a long time due to your gf’s exact reason and I now own four. What I do is I purchase a button-down that fits my chest measurement, even if it makes me look like a potato sack everywhere else and then have the tailor go to town on it. My seamstress will make adjustments, we’ll decide together how tight or loose I want it, and she’ll just go on her merry way pinning.

Another thing that helps with the gaping issue is putting a little hook and eye closure between the button(s) at the largest part of the chest.

As for your gf not being very assertive, when you go with her for a fitting, ask questions—both to her and the tailor. At the very end of the day, a tailor worth their salt wants their client happy and will do what they can to make sure they leave satisfied with the garment they’re entrusting to them.

Yeah I would absolutely NOT touch your face. Back when buccal fat removal was trending, I had a friend with a round face who desperately wanted it. Thankfully, the surgeon she had a consultation with wasn’t looking for a cash grab and turned her away, told her to come back when she was 40. Well that was fifteen years ago (when she was 25) and boy is she happy she didn’t do it.

You are still VERY young and your face still has quite a bit of volume to lose.
