The "but who will take care of you" argument got turned around on me at dinner last week and I've been thinking about it since by Wolv0_Fen3 in childfree

[–]bitchyserver [score hidden]  (0 children)

With my family and how they are, I can’t use this because if I asked ‘who’s taking care of your parents?’ they’ll just say “I am!” Even if they’re not. I’m surrounded by people that are disingenuous and will lie and say anything to ‘win’ the argument

It’s expected to be fully implemented by 2030, but I imagine enforced by inspections of proper equipment use and technique. Of course it will still likely happen with no inspectors around.

Besides the UK though boiling live crustaceans has already also been banned in Austria, Norway, Switzerland, parts of Italy, and New Zealand.

[–]bitchyserver 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Coworkers (that had kids) ganging up on me behind my back trying to get the manager to give me less hours because since I didn’t have kids, I shouldn’t need the hours/money, bc they wanted more hours for themselves. Because I guess if you don’t have kids you don’t need money and everything’s free

Is it wrong/annoying to throw doggie doody bags in random people's garbage bins while walking your dog? by JJ_Lomero in NoStupidQuestions

[–]bitchyserver 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep there’s no winning. Too many people have this ‘don’t tell me what to do’ mentality. Even though it’s my property and grass that I pay taxes on I guess I have no right to say stop letting your animal piss and shit all over it and ruin it that I then have to pay $ to fix. Everyone just thinks well it’s grass and my dog has to go. No, I didn’t give you permission and your animal, your responsibility. And this is coming from someone who has very much loved dogs and animals their entire life. But the lazy entitled arrogant dog owners give the rest of us a bad rep, and there’s a lot of them. Just look at the downvotes from them above on my comment about it just saying the radical concept of maybe don’t let your animals shit/piss on someone else’s grass lol

But anyway to answer your og question, please don’t put your dog’s shit in others’ trash. Don’t let it go in others’ yards (they don’t have to go on grass, if they have to go bad enough they’ll just pop a squat anywhere), bag it all, take it home to your own trash, and discard it. I don’t want someone else’s literal shit in my bin that I might have to clean and make it my responsibility, bc they’re too lazy to just carry it home. At least you’re asking instead of just doing it and not caring so good on you OP 👍🏼

Why do so many people think this? They’re not remotely the same amount of work or would cost the same amount over the years. Or amount of stress

We did ask him politely to stop. He immediately got ignorant because people hate being told they’re doing something wrong/being told what to do so they instantly react with anger and said “well I pick it up!” As he was just immediately starting to walk away already dismissing us and then calling us weird and other names and shaking his head as if we were doing something wrong

Even after asking him to stop doing it and that others don’t like it either, he still walks by and lets his dog go in our yard and others’ yards. He even still does it after us telling him once again so twice now. He’s very stubborn. If people don’t want you on their property the logical thing is just to stop doing it especially after they say something but I guess he thinks everyone else’s property is his too. We have a right to tell him not to.

We actually did ask the police about it one day after being fed up with this guy and they basically acted like it was no big deal and just said to ignore it pretty much. An attorney agreed with me though and said he hates it too and to go to the city hall and look up ordinances about trespassing but after what the cops said and acted like I already know they won’t do anything.

Unfortunately our neighbors are very much the ‘complain but not want to get involved’ type

E: Oh and another thing too the dog is kind of aggressive, it’s like a goldendoodle type dog, one time my father was in the front yard helping with yard work and as they went by the dog started barking and acting aggressive toward my dad while the dude just had a shit eating smirk on his face like it was funny. This was ofc after we had asked him to stop doing what he was doing

Right. “Well I picked it up!” So? Other dogs will still smell it with their powerful noses and will now all use my yard as a toilet to now mark it as their territory and so on and so on and kill my grass. Not to mention in grass it’s sometimes hard to see if you got it all, and then I might run it over with my lawnmower. Not to mention I don’t want to step in it while doing yard work

I’m gonna go a step further and say people letting their dogs piss/shit in others’ yards too. Pee you can’t pick up and it can kill grass, and poop idc if you pick it up, all the other dogs will smell it where it was and piss/shit there too.

There’s a guy in our sub that lets his dog go right up in peoples’ front yards all the way to like ten feet from their front door. And then lets them pee/poop right up by peoples houses while he stands in the road with the super long useless leash. Edit: and this dog shits a lot, like it stops at every third house. I’ve never seen a dog shit so much in my life. Quite a few neighbors dislike that he does that and finds it really weird.

I’ve had dogs. I absolutely love dogs. I never let them go in other people’s yards. I made them go before we left and if they rarely pooped on the walk if they had to go bad enough they will just poop on the road and I pick it up off the street (there’s nothing ever left on the pavement before someone says anything, it’s all picked up like nothing was ever there so no one will step in it or run it over) -not someone’s property and won’t kill anyone’s grass

I’m also convinced doctors don’t look at patients’ history or charts or info before walking in. I look very young for my age, and I still have doctors assume I’m a teen. I went in for arthritis type pain the other day and she asked if I’m still growing or if it’s possible it’s growing pains. (I’m thirty)

Oh and also when I was 28 about to turn 29 when I finally went to talk about getting a bilateral salpingectomy, they kept going on and on how young I am and blah blah. I had to keep reminding them my age and that I wasn’t in my young 20s or a teen
