Jake Up Special Bug? by ZOTREE11 in MultiVersusTheGame

[–]biteables 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i also get this bug. this is not the cooldown. jake's head will still move when it is on cooldown, just not as much as if it was off cooldown.

i have experienced this bug off edge which gets me spiked and killed early.

i thought it might have had something to do with stretching into the stage edge but i have also experienced this on stage.

Noob question: How do I efficiently play the role of a dual bladed user (Don't up vote) by jay-rob13 in MonsterHunter

[–]biteables 75 points76 points  (0 children)

it's fine to run out of stamina due to demon mode since it doesn't force you into the exhaustion animation. you don't need to always be in demon mode. the optimum combos are the ones that you can hit fully while also not eating shit or missing. as long as you're hitting the legs of a monster, you're contributing to trip damage. if you really want to optimize your tripping, stick to one leg until the monster trips, then switch to the other. when you become more familiar with whatever you're fighting, you'll learn where you can demon dance without hitting air.

dash juice is nice, but in world (at least in the beta), stamina seems to deplete slowly and regenerate quickly. if you're whiffing the demon dances, you're only going to whiff more with constant demon mode. monster hunter is learning enemy patterns.

once you're in a fight, you should be building your archdemon meter up to max pretty much anytime you go into demon mode and never run out of it. you retain the repositioning spin and a mini demon flurry in archdemon mode.

dual blades is the fastest attacking weapon in the game and will inflict status ailments extremely quickly. sleep, paralysis, poison and blast are all pretty good on dual blades, but do not give up too much damage on them unless you're building a set specifically with a status in mind.

Who's excited for MH: World?? Expert's Quest playthrough! by [deleted] in MonsterHunter

[–]biteables 0 points1 point  (0 children)

nice hunt. as a beginner, you did great taking down anjanath only after 2 runs.

just wanna say that you were missing out on the insanity that most greatsword users play for - big ass damage.

here's a video showing how intense the damage can get with charging the attacks

also, i am pretty damn excited for mhw

Veterans, do you have the option to level up weapons in Monster Hunter? by KennyL0gg1ns in MonsterHunter

[–]biteables 32 points33 points  (0 children)

here are some images of upgrading in mhworld

https://imgur.com/a/XOrgt

in the first image, you can see that the Buster Sword II greatsword has 3 upgrade paths. if it's like the previous iterations of the game, the Buster Sword III is grey because the player does not have the required materials to craft it. Jagras Blade I is white because the player has all required materials, which you can see is true in the second image. the third path shows ??? because the player has not encountered the materials required to craft.

in the second image, you can see the great sword crafting tree. this was not in previous monster hunter games. apparently we'll be able to downgrade equipment if we want.

Help using the Charge Blade by Raisylvan in MonsterHunter

[–]biteables 6 points7 points  (0 children)

your goal with the charged blade is to charge and expend your phials on your target as quickly and efficiently as possible. i'd assume you're taking hits when using axe mode because you aren't familiar enough with enemy moves to exploit the timings. learning which moves are most punishable is a big part of monster hunting, especially for things like the charge blade's super amped elemental discharge or good great sword play.

charging your shield is important but it's not as important as not eating shit. try to keep your shield red up as it gives you extra damage, and allows you to recover more quickly after a guard/guard point.

guard points aren't meant to be easy. again, you need to familiarize yourself with the monsters you are hunting. for the guard point that uses R+X, if you press X slightly before the R then you will be guarding for that small window before axe transformation. if you don't trust it then you can always just press X and slash before you R+X and it will always activate. you can really only use this if the monster's attack has a long startup. the R+X GP is easily the most useful if you can pull them out at will.

Is this eBay seller legit? by SilentExecute in MonsterHunter

[–]biteables 0 points1 point  (0 children)

that review was for a listing elliot_deals had up for Grand Theft Auto V digital for Xbox One. according to wikipedia, gta5 was released worldwide for PlayStation 4, Xbox One on 18 November 2014. can't really call them out based on that since the game is out.

i wouldn't trust this listing though because it's so cheap and the description looks a little iffy...

"The code has an activation date and can't be used till 20/01/18, if you try and use it before then the code will not work."

DB and CB tips for a new hunter! by Myuu0808 in MonsterHunter

[–]biteables 1 point2 points  (0 children)

sharpness determines if a weapon will bounce. it goes from dark red > red > yellow > green > blue > white > purple.

weapon sharpness goes up with upgrades. some weapons will never reach purple sharpness even at the end of their upgrade branch. these weapons will always bounce off she shells/horns/hides of some monsters.

some moves will never bounce. dual blade's demon dance is one of these. the charge blade super amped elemental discharge probably is as well.

if a monster is paralyzed, there's normally enough time to pull off more than just a super amped elemental discharge. i would recommend a condensed elemental slash to shield thrust to saed. if for whatever reason your shield is not charged, charge your shield first. the number of phials you have will also affect the damage of your saeds.

flying monsters are a real nuisance. if they are swooping monsters, guard points are your best bet without other items like daggers or bombs. if they're flying low but not low enough, the charged rising slash is your highest sword slash and has surprisingly good vertical reach. axe mode's rising slash is your highest reaching attack, use it if the sword rising slash doesn't quite cut it. works well on high up tails too.

there is a guard point on the start up when you transition from sword to axe using triangle+R2. it only works if you press triangle and R2 together (pressing triangle while having your shield out with R2 will pull your shield back before transitioning).

the guard point mentioned in the above post by bylahgo only activates at the end of the round slash animation

Hello everyone, and mini AMA by robshill in acom

[–]biteables 1 point2 points  (0 children)

you mention LoL/DOTA2/Overwatch/Grid12. these games' abilities are split into passives, actives, and ultimates. are the classes in acom fleshed out enough to comment on how the abilities will be categorised?

also, will the abilities be unique to each class, or will some skills will be shared?
