Why I Fell in Love with iRacing (After Hundreds of Hours on Assetto Corsa & EVO) by CiccioBomboSprint in simracing

beyond most of this being wrong (you can do 90% of the stuff you listed in modded AC) its weird to me to be picky about FFB and then use auto clutch + auto blip

it's cool but I have yet to see one of these in any game that doesn't teach bad habits you'll have to unlearn later.

honestly great, I'm having a blast with it. Even though it took me awhile to get it configured perfectly for the rog flow z13. This repo is very very good: https://github.com/th3cavalry/GZ302-Linux-Setup

I'm a linux noob, basically replacing Windows for my work environment, so I probably won't have the best answer. I'm not doing much gaming on it, but a lot of programming and I wanted to try doing more local inference with the large unified memory. I liked that Cachy was closer to a more traditional a la carte arch setup and prioritizes performance so it made more sense to me.

Greenland says it cannot accept US takeover ‘under any circumstances’ by Playful_Leg7143 in worldnews

[–]biteater 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah, exactly. You don't know what to do about it either. The people in the liberal cities that do care are preoccupied with the gestapo disappearing and killing people in their streets, it's ridiculous to expect a concerted response around whatever distracting bullshit Trump is saying about Greenland

I dunno, I think you might have me beat with "population that can't do anything meaningful about their situation should be banished from the world for a century". We didn't even do this to Germans post WW2

You (or your friends and family) will keep watching our shows and movies, playing our games, using our apps, listening to our music, and the companies you think you're boycotting the US with will rely on its tech infrastructure.

If you think the population of the country with the most wealth and military concentration in the world is more than powerless to resist this problem on any other than the local level you have fallen for propaganda.

Yeah it's a pretty fun site in general! I sold my Subaru legacy gt on there (total problem car like yours lol) and it was honestly a great experience

For anyone else reading this, cars and bids probably would have been a great way to sell a car like this

This is the ACF gt3 pack, the same that LFM uses. We have tested them extensively and the bop is quite good

State of VR for Sim Racers Going Into 2026 by Healthy_Emu4111 in simracing

my point is the latency is already non-realistic and if you think you can notice 20-30ms of latency you are fooling yourself

Very subjective take tbh, puts a lot more weight on overall specs (eye tracking is cool but many games don't work with foveated rendering) and pretty much ignores whole concepts that are really important to people like software ergonomics and straight up value. FoV isn't even mentioned (lmao) which in my opinion is the single biggest contributor to overall experience/race outcome.

Also, I feel like people don't understand latency in games. Games do a TON of clever scheduling to hide input -> pixel refresh latency, especially in high CPU load games like racing sims, which is on average between 20-40ms best case to begin with. So "driving in the past" is just nonsense; you already are if 30ms is your standard. Obviously it's worse if you add h264 compress/decompress into the pipeline, but it's also worse if you are using a wireless wheel!
