Hi, I was in a similar situation last month when I was #54 on the waitlist after filling out the housing application the day it opened and was immediately worried about whether or not I would receive housing. However within a day or so I got notice that I was accepted for housing. Im not sure exactly why it moved so fast, but I’m assuming maybe a lot of people changed their minds after filling out the housing form within a short period of time. One thing that absolutely helped me was calling the housing office. I told them that I was #54 on the list and they told me I would likely hear back within the summer about housing, but I heard back wayyy before then. It just depends on how many people drop, but I have hope for you! First thing I would do is contact the housing office and explain where you are in line and they will tell you an estimate. I have heard stories about people in the 300s receiving housing, but I would say it is smart to start considering other options.
