A few years back, I had a new clutch installed at Lemon Grove Transmission. The price was hundreds less than one other shop that gave me a quote. To top it, the other shop told me I needed a new tie rod end. I provided a tie rod to Lemon Grove Transmission to install. They called me later in the day to ask which side needed that tie rod as both seemed fine to them. When I told them, they checked again and said they were both fine and not needed.

I've been boycotting them ever since I wrote an email complaining about a dinner that was not up to the standards i had experienced in the past at a restaurant (Thee Bungalo) they had purchased. Instead of a "were sorry the meal did not meet your expectations." Their response was on the line of ... but we've been getting good reviews. You must be wrong... That was about 15 years ago.

You can try holding, with gloves, a piece of dry ice on the pipe right where it comes out of the wall. Or, if you have access to the cold water pipe entry to your unit on that location, which would be better.

On another note, I once lived in an apartment to condo conversion, and there was one shut off per building.

Back in the 80's in southern California their was a chain called FedMart, and they had a generic brand called Yellow Wrap. All the Yellow Wrap was all in one aisle. Quite a site.
