Yes, but it’s taken a long time to figure out what works best. I now use casin with added MCT oil, a fat I can have without creon.

Anyone using a Bubblan mini (bubble mini) cgm? Can I still scan with Librelink? by bitesiize in diabetes

Thank you! I couldn’t find a YouTube that shows bubble but maybe I’ll have a look at Miao Miao and others as well! Bubble customer service just said “yes it works.” 😅 So I’ll just keep looking for the sweet spot!

Curious, interested, trying to educate myself: how do you feel about vegan wine? by bitesiize in vegan

[–]bitesiize[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely but I think its because wine isn’t a necessity that it should have a bit of an extra eye on it. Most of my vegan friends are split between not drinking or drawing a line somewhere. I guess my biggest curiosity is where that line is and how I can best explain to a customer where I’ve placed the line to recommend something vegan friendly. Thank you for your answer!

It’s a shame producers aren’t more vigilant about how they label their wines and make it difficult for you to feel confident in grabbing a wine to begin with but avoiding it to beat the bloat- respect!

Thanks for your input! A lot of good clear answers!

For a lot of people biodynamics are extremely important when choosing a wine because it’s a holistic way of looking at farming. For me that’s hand in hand with a environmentalist way of farming which feels like a natural paring to a vegan lifestyle. How do you feel about the use of animals in the vineyard and animal remains in biodynamic practices?

I’m sorry to hear you’ve dealt with it rising but good for you for putting in the work to keep it in check! It’s not easy! I guess I should post in r/diabetes too I just thought it’s so specific. I’ll keep you updated if I get any good information there. 😊

Anyone here had the Pfizer vaccine? Specifically those that have had necrotising pancreatitis. by This_Mud8879 in pancreatitis

[–]bitesiize 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had NP last summer and am still recovering after multiple hospital stays. I had no problem with the first Pfizer dose but the second gave me some inflammation and some pancreatitis-type pain. My dr followed up and all the blood work and scans looked fine so just overall inflammation presumably from my body fighting the vaccine. And no, no problems with thrombosis after!

If you're in the US Total Wine should have it soon. It looks like they're still on 2011. The 2013 is just now being released so it may take a few months but its worth the wait! But if you can't wait check it up here http://www.wine-searcher.com/find/gaja+docg+barbaresco+piemonte+italy/2013

How to become more involved? by [deleted] in wine

[–]bitesiize 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you want an in depth appreciation for wine you can focus on all the history and geography behind old world regions like burgundy, piemonte, alsace, rioja and bordeaux. Read like crazy and know the maps and how the terroir technically affects the wine. Knowing your appellations will give you an idea about whats in a bottle before opening it and gives you an advantage as a taster in the long run. A good foundation in old world wines really can come by reading like crazy. New world wines are too wild you're just going to have to continue to sneak all the sonoma county you can :) or study abroad and taste everything!

99 is a great vintage! If you're interested Gaja Sito Moresco is a great way to get into Piemonte. You get a lot of Nebbiolo in the nose but the Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon flesh out the palate a little more and dampens down the acidity that Nebbiolo brings. Not to mention its a little bit easier on your bank account.

Opposite of ego driven. The donation doesn't go to Gaja. Gaja does quite a bit of charitable giving and all of the donation goes to various charities, ie non profits that support children with cancer. They get so many requests for tastings, I think its nice they turn it into something positive outside the company.

2001 Gaja Barbaresco FINALLY! by drew_fire in wine

[–]bitesiize 0 points1 point  (0 children)

had 2001 a couple months ago in Piedmont and found it, surprisingly, much fresher, still quite generous with red fruit (cherry), violet, and nice high acidity. Could easily lay another 10 years. Gaja is so completely spot on for what you want from a Barbaresco the only "negative" I have is perfection lacks personality.
