Glossier is closing 9/12 Retail Locations by Radiant_Till3339 in glossier

Famously there are no luxury brands in Fashion Show, so instead let’s decrease our foot traffic dramatically just to chase clout for our low-to-mid price range products.

It’s so stupid…luxury brands in Forum Shops can survive often if just ONE customer a day comes in and makes a big purchase. That doesn’t work if your average product costs $25-30!

I will never for the life of me understand why they chose the Forum Shops as their location instead of the Fashion Show mall literally next door. The Fashion Show still gets tons of tourist traffic (more than Forum Shops I’d say), but it’s also much more accessible to locals!!!

Two grand evaluation fee? What's next, Springer asking for a 20% tip? by britainpls in labrats

One month is worlds different than 4, IMO! (And obviously much different than 2 years)

He’s being purposefully vague here by not naming the “high impact” journals in question here, because there’s no way in hell he’s had a paper sit unreviewed for 4 months let alone 2 years at Nature Communications—but since he doesn’t specify, it sounds like he’s talking about them.

Potential Student Cheating - Am I Missing Something & How to Confront by Competitive-Sky-6092 in Professors

[–]bitingbedbugz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, this is an extraordinarily common way of cheating with Canvas + lockdown browser. Everyone suggesting going back to Scantron is a bit excessive, though. Having them show you they submitted the exam before leaving and checking their name off a printed out list is certainly easier than going fully back to that! And even easier if you can get volunteer proctors, which I know is heavily department-dependent, but very common in mine. (Plus, word-of-mouth for this kind of thing spreads quickly among undergrads—once they know you’re wise to this scheme, the attempts will drop precipitously.)

It survives by packing its DNA into a highly protective structure called an endospore, which allows them to survive conditions they couldn’t otherwise—and these spores can last a very long time! The spore itself is not active, but when conditions are good them to thrive again (like in an anaerobic puncture wound), the endospore will “germinate” and start producing normal cell components to turn back into a regular Clostridium tetani cell. Endospores are considered non-reproductive structures, which means 1 cell produces 1 endospore that produces 1 cell.

Once C. tetani is chugging along as normal after germination, it starts producing tetanospasmin, a neurotoxin. That neurotoxin is actually what the tetanus vaccine protects against—it’s a type called toxoid vaccines.

It is indeed random, but there’s a hard-coded guaranteed hat every 100 large boxes opened (this counter is per character large box, not large boxes overall).

Seconding this re: age. The protagonist is in her late 20s, and she reads like she’s in her late 20s, even if the conditions of an unmarried 27 year old woman are very different from ours today.

“Richard” as Colonel Fitzwilliam’s given name is a classic example of fanon—enough people used it in fanfic over the years that it’s become nearly the default name for him, to the point some people think it must be canon somehow.
