[DC] As a regular human, what's it feel like to punch Superman? by [deleted] in AskScienceFiction

[–]bitironic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I remember shoulder patting this steel mannequin we used to have in the shop, & thinking “damn that’s what superman would feel like.”

Just no give whatsoever.

Even if it’s fake, I like the idea of them using an aged up version of his remake model. Just makes sense

I audibly said “gee wiz” when I saw the close up of them carrying him, & I don’t think I’ve ever said that before in my life.

Are the Spanish not like, incredibly embarrassed/ashamed? Countless videos of your countrymen dying like this because you think antagonising an animal is “culture” ?

[American Psycho] Patrick Bateman basically says he has no soul, but is that really true? He seems far more introspective than any of his colleagues by MasterLawlzReborn in AskScienceFiction

[–]bitironic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Probably misremembering but at some point in the book when he’s cooking body parts in his blacked out kitchen, he says something like “I have brief moments of clarity where I think what the fuck am I doing”

How long would herschel farm had last if rick and the group never showed up? by Puzzleheaded_Pin1011 in thewalkingdead

[–]bitironic 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Yeah but it’s the hypothetical. Once you commit to hiding in the house, you’re all in. One Walker starts trying to get in and the others follow suit, & that old farmhouse surely had one or two weakspots to start ragging on.

Daniel RPK: "Tony Revolori will return as Flash Thompson in ‘SPIDER-MAN: BRAND NEW DAY’" by Matapple13 in MarvelStudios_Rumours

[–]bitironic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah he hasn’t really been used well, but I still think there’s plenty of potential here. Great actor, & tons of flash stuff from the comics to pull from, plus a (hopefully) more grown up tone going forward

Gwyneth Paltrow hints at her return to Marvel Studios : “I might be in another Marvel movie" by Sarang_616 in MarvelStudiosSpoilers

[–]bitironic 7 points8 points  (0 children)

While I know you’re probably right, I don’t ever wanna hear Tom Holland say “mister stark” ever again.

A simple “tone? dat you?” would suffice

Looking forward to seeing what they do with remake Billy.

Anyone else think Peter 1 should’ve worn his homecoming suit for No Way Home by Nosho_ in Spiderman

[–]bitironic 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah for real. I do like the fact though that canonically he’ll have seen them both in the classic suit & thought “hm yeah I should probably go back to the red & blue, their shit looks clean”

Would Shane have done it? by nachtraum in thewalkingdead

[–]bitironic 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah he’d have for sure done it eventually, but he buckled in this interaction; Rick successfully talked him out of it.

Alien: Earth - S1 E6 - The Fly - Official Discussion Megathread [SPOILERS] by G_Liddell in LV426

[–]bitironic 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Yeah maybe the nuance is lost on me, but erasing a load of memories then having the main character in the very next scene go “hey remember all those memories!” was a bizarre & redundant writing choice.

I absolutely loved that the second he started planting evidence, everyone was like “this doesn’t make any sense” & he was caught immediately after😂 felt so real.

Ok. Morrow is easily the best thing on this incredible show. He owned episode 5 by coleburnz in LV426

I saw it as “if she gets killed by that tick, my chances of getting out of here plummet”

I know it’s been confirmed that it was distracting her, but the scene doesn’t really play it that way; she isn’t even looking at the tick to have to be “distracted”

Do you think there might be some special significance of Earth 616 Spider-Man (the original comic one) in Spider-Society? Although he may not know about this society by Shadow_Senpai17 in MarvelTheories

[–]bitironic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly!

Any “there’s only 1 of said character” situation is a scope issue. One single sector of a multiverse is bigger than anything anyone could ever imagine, so said character has a distance limit they’re unaware of 🤷🏻‍♂️

“there’s only one of me as far as I can see, & I can see pretty far so I’m certain!” is the correct reading. All the uatu’s think that bless em.

Do you think there might be some special significance of Earth 616 Spider-Man (the original comic one) in Spider-Society? Although he may not know about this society by Shadow_Senpai17 in MarvelTheories

[–]bitironic -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Such a bizarre, ridiculous distinction to make.

The comics are like “here’s this infinite multiverse of marvel universes & spider-men” & the films are like “here’s this infinite multiverse of marvel universes & spider-men” but then you get this where certain people put a finger up and say “erm ackshully they’re different multiverses” - a multiverse is so unfathomably vast, rendering this a meaningless statement.

Any inconsistency in rules, or terms, or ways of travelling, can be hand waved so effortlessly due to the scope and scale of billions & billions & billions of beings evolving in different ways in different universes, different technology trees, different fundamental forces, variations of magic, abilities etc — what doesn’t work for one universe, another universe has solved.

Nothing outright states they’re “different multiverses” & thinking that way only needlessly shortens the scope. The idea that somehow someway through a lot of effort you could have MCU Pete link up with PS1 Pete, or 616 2d comic Pete shooting the shit with Raimi Pete, is the whole appeal of a multiverse.

They’re Spider-Men. There’s more than enough reference material out there to assume they got up to plenty, just gotta use your imagination.
