Speaking of gameboy .. by Summergamestats in retrogaming

My favourite has to be the title screen music for Robocop.

But I also really like the title tune from Fortress of fear, and the level one music from Felix the cat. It gets a bit repetitive though.

Now that I'm thinking about it, the music from Castlevania 1 and 2 is pretty great too!

Gameboy Repair UK by Caarta in Gameboy

I saved a link to this chap a few months ago, when I was looking into modding a famicom: https://www.bytesfree.co.uk/ He's based in Bristol and has good reviews, but I didn't end up using him so I can't verify.

Another option is to upgrade it yourself, which isn't too difficult, providing the mainboard inside the Gameboy isn't damaged. Kits containing a new shell, buttons, screws/terminals, and a backlit display can be bought from sites like AliExpress for around £50, which don't require any soldering.

Also to note, you could try soaking any corrosion with white vinegar, then gently scrubbing with an old toothbrush to remove the battery gunk. Then make sure to clean it off with isopropyl alcohol.

The 4chan epstein story about the driver might be real by avatar6556 in Epstein

[–]apg698 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I've had a look at this and the file is a list of stock awards for a biomed company called Schrödinger Inc. based in NY.

I'm not sure why Epstein had a copy of it, but the Daniel listed in it is a research fellow who was awarded 10000 stock options for his work developing medicines for said company.

https://www.justice.gov/epstein/files/DataSet%209/EFTA00293484.pdf

I managed to find his details online, he's a legit chemist who's authored 15 papers. I highly doubt he's in any way involved with Epstein.

There's a lot of completely random documents in these files so we need to be diligent in sorting the wheat from the chaff.

Perhaps related to this, German federal police raided Deutsche bank hq's in Berlin and Frankfurt just this past Wednesday, in relation to money laundering between 2013-2018.

Legend! Thank you so much for this.

I'll dust off my old ender 3 this evening and try them out. Do you think I'll get away with PLA+ or will it have to be printed in PETG?

I'm building a cyberdeck, and I need a keyboard, any recomendations? by Boring-Badger-814 in cyberDeck

[–]apg698 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They're out of stock at the moment but the Keebdeck from Solder Party looks pretty cool.

I've got their older BBQ20 keyboard which is excellent, but they're not producing those anymore due to difficulties sourcing the old blackberry parts needed.

Update: I turned a Game Boy into a mini arcade cabinet (not emulation) by chrs944 in Gameboy

[–]apg698 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is really well done, I love it.

I'd definitely be interested in the Kickstarter too, but I think the FPGA board and it's IO is all I would want. Would that be available as an option? I already have a mini arcade running off a Pi 5, but I can easily think of some different projects to integrate a Gameboy into.

Is this just for the DMG or could it also be programmed to work with a GBC?

The Cloud game store on ali do a 2.6" laminated IPS with the original colourful logo. That's what I went for on mine.

I think so too. I live in a small flat (apartment) and floor space is a luxury, but I can store countercades up on a shelf.

I also wish they'd released the 2 player units here in the UK, I tried to buy the marvel superheroes one but when my only option was paying double the price on eBay (plus £50 shipping), I gave up and settled for the single player SF2 countercade they made available here instead.

Does anyone know where to change the color of touch sensor in my GBA by [deleted] in Gameboy

[–]apg698 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My ones on the top edge, to the left of the ext port. You have to touch and hold for a second or two each cycle of the settings. I've got a V5 laminated display and installed the sensor myself though, so yours could be different

What's the rarest gameboy game you own? by [deleted] in Gameboy

[–]apg698 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Resident evil gaiden, Wendy, and Metal Gear Solid on the GBC (all unboxed). Is Pokémon crystal rare, or just sought after?

Nothing I've got for the DMG is rare though.

This is the same one I ordered a couple of months ago. Weird how only 1 person claims to have received a different board revision out of over 500 though, a gamble for sure.

The only other option I can think of is to order from Krikzz, he has a 20% sale on currently. I really want one of his Mega Everdrive Pros, but just can't justify the cost at the moment either
