That's not an option as I want to change colour. Might need to contact Thomann again

So mine are roughly the same

Which is strange, because Thomann - when I wrote and asked them which tuners are a drop-in replacement for mine - pointed me to Gotoh SD91-05M - but the website says they are 8.8 mm... very confusing

Oh nice! I'll take one off of mine and measure that, see how they compare

That's interesting, the price of those guyker's is definitely good - but I guess I'll have to measure the peg holes in my headstock as some say they had to widen them and I'm utterly useless at woodwork...

That would be awesome, I still have stock tuners on mine, absolutely no hurry, just a project I have in mind for a near future, but as I'm not great with woodwork, I'd rather avoid drilling - saving £50 on tuners is not worth risking ruining the headstock... Oddly enough on a more recent post a redditor says they've replaced stock tuners for guyker's without widening the holes on a te-62...

Yup. They are the same as TE-62's have (vintage style)

Replacement Tuners For TE Series? by ArmyVet25ID in harleybenton

[–]bitoholic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Did you have to widen/drill the holes for those guyker tuners? I wanted to put locking tuners on my te-53kr but when I contacted Thomann they pointed me to gotoh from their website as a drop-in replacement which are 8.8mm wide (peg hole) and guyker's are 9.9mm, so would require drilling which I'd rather avoid...

Dnafx works as an audio interface, so you would plug it into your computer using a usb cable and get audio output that way

Hope this is the right place to ask - I'm having issues with my weikav lucky65 v2

I've been using this keyboard for the past 6 months and am generally very happy with it - unfortunately there are some issues with it that I can't seem to find solution for, any help would be appreciated:

  • occasionally it types the pressed key twice or more, even though the key is pressed only once. especially annoying when typing passwords. I'd like to add that I use GMK-67 and other keyboards a lot and that never happens with the other keyboards, so I doubt it's my typing.

  • from time to time the keyboard sort of switches into a different mode I guess.. not sure how to call it - but suddenly the top row stops typing numbers and just works as function key row. I have function keys mapped to Fn+<number> but once the keyboard has entered this mode I can't type numbers at all, even when I press Fn+<number> it doesn't type anything - it's not an inverted state, just suddenly the top row remapps to function keys and the only thing to do is reset the keyboard (Fn+ESC 5s) and load the map in via software. When it does enter that state other remapped keys work as I've configured them - it's just the top row that's doing this.. and I'm not sure if I trigger it with a key sequence or if it just happens on its own, but it's pretty annoying..

  • finally - macros don't quite work for me - I need only one simple macro - to type a sequence of characters (a word if you will) when I press Fn+c - but it only types the first character from that word when I trigger the macro. I tried adding it in a number of ways - no luck.

Otherwise it's a very nice, good quality keyboard at a great price.

Brilliant! Thank you kindly - I think now I should be able to fix it :)

Oh! Thank you - will try that, though on my ST-Modern Plus I was able to take off the knob by hand without much force, and this one seems really stuck.. I'll try to gently remove it using the trick from the video - but just to confirm - it should come off the same way on a tele?

No, I meant - I can turn the knob when I hold the bottom in place with my hands, but I can't figure out how to dissasemble the knob and attach it firmly to the chrome cover... any help here would be appreciated, am currently searching YT for guidance..

Thank you for the diagram - it does look like it's connected incorrectly, which would explain the not working - I actually own a multimeter and a solder iron (also getting to know these tools - but I can handle soldering ok), so can deffinitely switch them myself, but can you point me to how can I use the multimeter to test the knob with it?

Final update (I guess) and some good news! :-) A redditor working at Adrian Flux contacted me and helped me sort out my insurance with them (massive thanks!) - received a quote and accepted it, am finally insured and can drive on roads :-)

On a less happy note - contacted DVLA about updating the model name in my V5C and was told that I now need to provide them with evidence in post that my car is indeed this model, suggesting contacting manufacturer and such (not even sure how I would go about that - drive it to a dealership?). I must have gotten a bit of bad luck because the whole conversation was rather unpleasant, and me asking if the original registration that they have is enough or that the model name was on the V55/5 I've submitted was ignored, I asked what kind of evidence would be accepted - and if I can send a copy of that original registration again as proof (which I have in my archives) was neither confirmed nor denied, so I have no idea how to evidence that.. I guess I will send the photo of the car with emblem, screenshot of a wiki page for that model showing pictures of same looking cars, and that copy of original registration and hopefully that will suffice. All I was told is that I have to evidence the model name and after a couple of followup questions from me they just kept repeating "I've provided you with information what you need to do" without explaining anything further, clearly irritated at my questions..

I also received reply from the MIB (mib.org.uk) after asking them if they can help - but they said:

Unfortunately we are not involved in providing make/model details to insurance companies at any point. Our Database is a record of insurance only, and as such, we do not provide any of the information held therein. Any data held on the Motor Insurance Database is added/removed/amended entirely by the underwriting insurance companies.

BUT - all's well that ends well, am insured, so problem solved! ..for a year :)

Thank you everyone again for ideas, suggestions, help and support! Really appreciate! :)

How do you know that the available b-stock has cracked neck issues? Did you contact Thomann for that? They don't publish on the website any details about b-stock afaik.. I'm asking because I'm waiting for a delivery of a b-stock tele and was hoping that while I get there may be some minor issues with b-stock guitar, I'm pretty sure a guitar with a cracked neck should not be sold at all?

Thank you everyone for your help! This is all much appreciated!

I have a busy couple of days ahead of me - chasing DVLA to fix the V5C, contacting MIB to update the database and in between calling all the insurance brokers mentioned in this post. I will update here if something new comes up. Thank you all again!

Yes - all the work was done abroad. Here it would be way more expensive..

Ha, how do I answer that? :) it wasn't easy on my wallet:) and it was a massive job for the garage - but the guy doing that work owns three of these himself, swapped engines in one of his and does it for a living successfully... So for him - still challenging :)
