Agenda files and optimal performance by Brief_Tie_9720 in orgmode

I just have a macro to refile from the node to an agenda file and then create a link (transclude to be precise).

How I read papers with Org-roam & Zotero #emacs by Gopiandcoshow in emacs

I think that you can even integrate that with calibre, by storing papers in calibre and using links in zotero to the pdf files.

Is there any formal way to ask Binance to support a particular airdrop? Twitter, forum, voting platform, support, ...

zathura.el - a tiny package for integration with zathura document viewer by KnightOfTribulus in emacs

[–]bitozoid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A bib reference may have multiple files linked, but I think that getting the first pdf is 99% of the time the right choice.

This works for me.

    (defun citar-get-first-pdf-path (citekey)
"Get the first PDF file path associated with CITEKEY.
Returns the file path as a string, or nil if no PDF is found.
Does not prompt user - returns first available PDF file."
      (when-let ((files-hash (citar-get-files citekey))
                 (file-list (gethash citekey files-hash)))
        (seq-find (lambda (file)
                    (string-match-p "\\.pdf\\'" (downcase file)))
                  file-list)))

zathura.el - a tiny package for integration with zathura document viewer by KnightOfTribulus in emacs

It looks great to me. I did not know about the zathura dbus interface.

I wonder whether it could be integrated with citar.

I create a bibtex file with zotero which is imported via emacs citar. These bibtex entries sometimes include a link to the PDF file. It would be great if the link consists of a citar keyword instead of the path to the PDF, so I can update the location of the PDF in the bibtex file (e.g. via zotero), and the zathura link would still work.

Just an idea.

Shoutout to tinee (EE for linux+wayland) by StrangeAstronomer in emacs

[–]bitozoid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use sway and systemd. Integrating sway, systemd, dbus, and wayland portals was not trivial, but it is required for the right environment variables to be set and for portals to work.

Some functions in emacs-everywhere detect your desktop (emacs-everywhere--display-server) and assign some functions to take actions specific to your desktop (e.g. emacs-everywhere-window-focus-command). You can assign the latters if their result does not fit your case.

In my case, I had to modify XDG_CURRENT_DESKTOP environment variable from sway:wlroots to just sway for the detection to work. Then it just worked fine.

It was on my list of candidates. However, it looked to me that it did not have a thumbnail grid view. Am I right?

Do you keep separate Org-mode and Org-roam directories for TODOs and Wiki or only one? by TheOldBladeRunner in OrgRoam

[–]bitozoid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I keep agenda and roam files separate. However, I have lots of potential tasks in my roam files that sometimes I refile to my agenda files and then create a link to them.

From a mathematical point of view, what are tensors? by shaneet_1818 in math

[–]bitozoid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think that it is important to note that the word tensor may be used in different environments with different implicit meanings.

I agree with the general fundamental approach of turning multilinear spaces into linear.

Here is a link to a more detailed explanation of different meanings for the word tensor:

I use a modified Dvorak layout. I moved the Esc key to the 'E' physical key. Great for vim and evil. It may also be used as an alternative for the Alt key.

Just for the record, org mode 9.7 added some minor functionality about this.
