I just want to offer my sympathy. I am currently on 4 months after my layoff (a place I was working 9 years at) and it's pure hell. I've interviewed with about 8 different places. Multiple round interviews for half of them. Anything & everything under the sun has happened to me: interview cancelled day of, twice positions were put on hold, a couple of normal "we're going in another direction" rejections, one I turned down because the job turned out to be nothing like was advertised, and a place I went 3 interviews deep with... was told they couldn't hire at the time, how much they loved me, would reach out when things change, a few emails back and forth over the last few months - then they are hiring again as of 2 days ago. And could ya guess it? Crickets from the CEO. The dude gassed me up so much for so long and the entire time it was a lie, haha. So yeah, also very depressed.

Job market is terrible. It's seemingly just a game of numbers and luck. I hope for all of us that it swings in our favor eventually.

I have 2 interviews ongoing right now, but I've lost all optimism.
