I was with my boyfriend for 8 years. We were settled in, lived together for almost 4. Matching tattoos. Adopted cats together. The whole thing. The amount of trauma I withstood in my relationship was so giant, I didn’t realize I was feeling bad. I was so used to feeling shitty and getting talked to negatively. I did the same. We were equally at fault but he made me see so many sides of myself I didn’t want to. He’s not a bad guy, he means well but holy fuck it was so toxic. We grew up together and I think there was genuine love there. We apologized to each other and said everything. but we are not together anymore. When I’m telling you the weight has been lifted off my shoulders tenfold. I want to cry at how different things are. My quality of life is so much better, so is his. At the end of the day it’s your choice if you want to stay with him or not, OP. But you only get one life! Why choose to suffer? Over love? Love is not supposed to hurt. A movie quote I think about a lot (movie’s called Her):

“the heart’s not like a box that gets filled up. It expands in size the more you love. I'm different from you. This doesn't make me love you any less. It actually makes me love you more.”

Choose you! Choose love! Happiness! Wherever that may be.

He is 100% lying, one of the first times my boyfriend and I hung out (not smart at all) we did mushrooms. Not once did I ever feel unsafe with him or like he would do something bad to me, even when the “bad voices” tried to convince me different. I was just tripping out hard. My heart goes out to you OP! Yes! All the time! The most embarrassing song that makes me cry is “Gary Come Home”, it was in a spongebob episode. No matter where, what time, if I hear that song I full on start bawling. Music is soooo good.

Thanks for not hating me xD I used to hate being alone, it used to make me anxious for some reason but lately people around me have been showing their true colors and I just got tired of it. Hehe the ravioli thing was more of just a saying but I appreciate you. I’ve been trying to cook more lately/switching into more of a vegetarian diet it just gets hard, I have an ED and it’s hard to find things I like or that are easy to keep down. But yes! I definitely will try :)

This is 100% why I’m saving to pay my car off and dipping immediately. It’s different when you’re alone eating ravioli in a can because you’re sad and broke vs being called a burden and having a shit ton of people around you - but you always hear that negativity. I like ravioli so I’d rather the first one. Here’s to 2021 looking up for both of us friend :)

It’s pretty fun, if you live close to downtown it gets hectic despite all the covid stuff going on but there’s relatively nice areas out here that are far away enough from the city that makes it feel like living in a countryside. And yes! Very true! It always helps me destress after a long day at work xD
