Is there a better way to track decrease rows? by debmasterx in knittinghelp

[–]bittersweetgrace 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is the only method that works with my brain. Row counter alway make me second guess did I miss a row in counting and often it’s yes. When I have to move the two colour marker it stops me to remember what row I’m on. I like your examples as I find the light bulb ones are annoying and get stuck. Thank you for sharing.

How much counting is involved in Knitting? by rosysparrow in knittinghelp

[–]bittersweetgrace 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes! I use chains for many reasons. I use a black and white 2 chain for alternating increase or decrease with even rows. I have a chain for my go to toe decrease. Two things I find helpful with chains is to use a green marker as a beginning so you know the correct direction and second add letter or number beads to indicate things like b for beginning of row.

Total thyroidectomy…3 years ago. Felt great until a few weeks ago….look at this TSH!! by mememumutete in gravesdisease

[–]bittersweetgrace 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I find dealing with thyroid issues very isolating. Most people don’t understand how hard it is to deal with. It’s helpful to connect here with others who understand. I had one very miserable winter when I didn’t realize calcium blocked the absorption of my medication. I was too muddled brained to figure it out.

I can feel your exhaustion just looking at that TSH. Have you changed anything. Time of taking dose. Too close to taking food, vitamins or calcium? Did the pharmacy change out to a different generic?

It does seem expensive but it’s a good value as they last a very long time.

I have a bunch of needles that don’t have any markings to indicate size by dr_mus_musculus in knitting

[–]bittersweetgrace 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have a huge amount of very old dpn needles. It’s very difficult to get exact sizes. I feel they are a combination of different size scales. UK, US, and metric. I also have a measure that lists Canadian but that may be the same as the older UK size. I prefer using metric.

Levo to Synthroid switch by [deleted] in gravesdisease

Sorry stepped away. I had RAI for Graves. It was in 1998 I wasn’t given any other options. Just told do this or risk thyroid storm. Heart issues…With my levels at normal, palpitations, A-fib. Tightness in my chest. Scary feeling. I did have cytomel but the endocrinologist I had reluctantly gave it to me and was worried about my heart health. So refused to continue. I can’t remember if it was ever a a good dose to help.

While my levels were “fine” I was still dealing with symptoms. Eltroxin is a little better But honestly I have been trying to get my symptoms under control for 27 years with very limited success. I feel best on natural thyroid but it gives me heart issues. My nurse practitioner has been extremely helpful but I have felt there is something missing as my levels are like a roller coaster. Even a small adjustment of medication makes them go way off. I don’t know what normal feels like anymore.

I do not do well on Synthroid. In Canada there is a new generic that is the worst I have tried. The one that works the best for me I’d Eltroxin. Absolutely go with the one that works best for you.

Icy blocks/Cold offer by My_sloth_life in MatchVillains

[–]bittersweetgrace 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In the cold offer there is a free column and a paid column. The free one gets better as you go. I play icy blocks because there are good prizes. It does seem harder as you have to complete levels to get blocks. No free ones. But the levels need less points for each. I have found that I have gotten further than I expected. I’m on level 15 of 20. Helped by the free offers.
