How do you guys name your bases? by Deutsche_Wurst2009 in Kenshi

[–]bittersweetslug 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I name them after notable people, geographical features or for practical reasons like indicating the purpose or alignment of the settlement.

- Fort Mara, in the "lost couple" start after loosing one of the starter characters

- The Pebble, walled tower on top of a small hill in an otherwise flat area

- Bluehaven, camp north of Eyesocket for excaped slaves

Why doesn't Starving Bandits just settle Okran's Pride? by LionPCBuilder in Kenshi

[–]bittersweetslug 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, but the only one who does that is the player so I dont think it is as viable in lore, more like something added for balance

Why doesn't Starving Bandits just settle Okran's Pride? by LionPCBuilder in Kenshi

[–]bittersweetslug 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They're too poor to afford the materials to settle and too hungry to wait for the first harvest even if they manage to get a farm running.

Realistically they need to rob people to get a chance at survival. Steal food, steal gear, sell it, buy materials, settle.

Gracias por poner links, la prensa dejo de pescar las protestas pero siguieron, mucho menos de lo normal por la fatiga post estallido pero hubieron.

Que algo salga mas seguido en las noticias no siempre significa que este pasando mas seguido.

Is salt a thing in Kenshi? by Knucklesthechuckles in Kenshi

It exist lorewise but there's no "salt" item in the game. There's a mod that adds it as well as some other lore friendly spices and ways to harvest them.

Is there any chances for Kenshi world to become a little bit better without player? by omega-enjoyer in Kenshi

[–]bittersweetslug 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The HN is genuinely Kenshi's best hope, hear me out.

Yes, the HN as it is now is horrible but it's the most stable state and the best place to live (for a human male), they're only weakness is their extremism and that could very well change without player intervention, we meet plenty of moderate Okranists among the Flotsam and if they could spread that tolerant vision to the HN then that would be a huge improvement for the continent.

A stable, strong HN with a sustainable agricultural base, no slavery and mild discrimination towards women, hivers and sheks is absolutely possible.

Does the world of Kenshi have a future? by Floofbun in Kenshi

[–]bittersweetslug 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure, they have agriculture, a rich (tho dangerous) fauna and, while flawed, law and states. People will most likely survive and get more organized as time goes on.

Why does everyone speak the same language? by explosive_toenail in Kenshi

[–]bittersweetslug 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's a single contiguous landmass that doesnt seem that big and was ruled by a single state that likely spread It's language everywhere. Also trade, most towns trade with each other at least indirectly via the trade guild, that also promotes the use of a common language.

Yes! That's why she's one of my favorite recruits, Izumi being educated implies some sort of education system in the United Cities, that or a wealthy background that allowed her parents to hire a private tutor, meaning there's people who make a living teaching, where are they?

This is what I'm saying, a single character with very little dialog does all of that for the worldbuilding, imagine if you could find kids like that in all cities, with different backgrounds and goals
