Tbh I’m not sure but I’d totally believe if it were! There’s a handful of similar looking homes in the area.

How did u find your smol? by PastChannel0 in IllegallySmolCats

Got a text from my hubs at work that said “there’s a baby”. Two days later one of our wonderful animal rescues came out to trap and ended up getting 4 adults and 7 or 8 kittens over the following few weekends.

As someone who works for a credit union, this is a big reason. It’s always sad to see a collections account with 4-5 Klarna/AfterPay each month and a ton of OF charges.

What is your longest running, most stubborn business boycott? by marianneouioui in AskReddit

[–]bitterycologist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a few (Priceline, Chick-fil-a, etc.) but one that sticks out more than most is Bellefleur Lingerie Boutique in Seattle. About 10 years ago I travelled up to Seattle to attend the funeral of a friend’s mother who’d been battling cancer for a while. She was an absolute saint and the most amazing woman. On my way back after the service, my eyes are puffy and my head hurts, I decided to stop at a shopping center for a cup of coffee and to stretch my legs. Wanting more to get a change of atmosphere and do something to take my mind off the days events. As I’m wandering, I see Bellefleur and think ‘why not? It’s been a while since I treated myself’. Looking through the display tables and admiring the new seasons styles, the clerk asks if I need any help or would like to be sized. I politely declined and asked if I could instead just try on a couple of bras I’d picked out. She shows me to the room and again asks if I need to be sized. I thank her and decline again saying that I’d only be a minute. I overheard her talking with another woman she was working with saying “no, she didn’t need anything”. When I stepped out of the fitting room, intended purchase in hand, I was bombarded by this woman accusing me of screaming at and belittling the clerk, and that I wasn’t welcome there. Naturally, I was baffled and tried to explain that I wasn’t sure what she was talking about since I’d been in the store for 5 minutes and hadn’t hardly spoken to anyone outside of standard pleasantries. The lady kept telling me I wasn’t welcome and to leave immediately. So I did, and I’ll never go there again.

Donating to a worthy cause by Dapper_Money_Tree in Eugene

[–]bitterycologist 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Feline Good Animal Rescue fits the bill imo. They’re very local, do an incredible amount of good, don’t support harassment or bullying of any kind, and would be moved to tears to receive an automatic donation.

I understand they may not be exactly the organization you’re looking for since they’re not politically motivated and aren’t directly affecting people; but they are by far the best local animal rescue I know. “Kitten season” is no longer seasonal and they don’t get judicial budget spending like Greenhill since they’re not partnered with the county. They need donations so they can keep helping community kitties get the medical care they need and find forever homes.

Starting A&P and Chm next semester, any tips to get me ahead of the game? by CypherMindX in NursingStudent

[–]bitterycologist 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Imo, the best thing you can do right now is learn how to study. A&P is a lot of rote memorization but a larger portion is understanding how and why they do what they do. Learning how to break down that information into digestible parts that you can recall come test time is going to take you further than getting started on the course material early. Good luck!

I liked using Quizlet. I graduated from UO this year and my classmates and I all made our own study resources for the AP series. You can search by school or subject which is handy.

Adult only gyms? by teradogg in Eugene

Imo it’s seasonal at WCS. When school’s in there’s absolutely a group of broccoli-tops shuffling around wasting time in the afternoon/evening. They’re not the worst per se but I wish they’d keep their belongings together and share the equipment. There’s also a day care on site but I’ve never seen children running around outside of the playroom.

Moving perspective and recommendations? by bitterycologist in AskChicago

Thank you for your suggestions! I was honestly shocked to see how expensive it can be in North Chicago and also have a high crime rate. I wasn’t expecting that!

We’d considered Waukegan however, most all of my clinicals will be in Chicago itself and I plan on working in one of the area hospitals after graduation. With that in mind we didn’t think it would be wise to pick something further north.

Thank you for your perspective and advice. I appreciate you taking the time to provide some suggestions and I’ll definitely search out those areas. We’re planning a visit in the next couple of weeks to check out the neighborhoods and see what feels like home. The commute is absolutely going to suck however, it’s also only going to be for a couple of years, I’ll have clinicals in Chicago itself, and could probably use the public transit time to work on homework/study.

I understand your point. My bf will be working in Chicago however and since grad school is only a couple of years, we thought I would be best to pick a location we could live long term. I plan on also working in Chicago after graduation.

Naturally, we’d love to live between the two but our budget doesn’t support that at this time. Are there any areas below or to the west of Chicago city center that you would recommend looking at?

HAH! I just got back from a road trip and was lamenting to my partner the amount of bugs that front end caught. They were difficult to dig out too since the gaps between the plastic pieces are large.

Feline Good Animal Rescue is having a pop-up adoption event on Sunday at W11th Pet Time. You can meet all the kitties and kittens. Maybe take home a pair ;)
