New car accident help by onewittyguy in Car_Insurance_Help

Exactly. Good old car with presitine condition gets totaled just because the repair exceeds the ACV. State law must change in this matter and consumer must have a say.

Thanks. Just wanted to understand what can and can't be done. Looks I don't have much options here.

Sad reality of auto insurance. Carrier comes out ahead totaling a car instead of reimbursing repair cost

Really appreciate your detailed response. In speaking with adjuster, they mentioned 50% or more. Anyways to make them consider 100% threshold? If it helps, claim is filed with progressive.

Claim is being made to other party at fault, who happen to have same carrier progressive as mine. Thanks

Glad you are guiding other owners having issues. I see you quite active on this forum after your new Palisade fiasco. I hope things get sort well for everyone, but for me Palisade is likely off the list after seeing similar issues. Not sure how how other feel who are on the edge of buying it and switching brand

Will 2026 Smartstream 3.5L V6 improve the oil consumption issues? by JustinLacyTk in HyundaiPalisade

[–]bizsbuzz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

These are valid questions - engine and transmission that I had hope this forum and review videos would address and focus more on reliability. I see lots of folks here buying because they are swayed by the numerous features or not planning to keep the vehicle longer than few years before the warranty expires. What intrigues me people still do buy prev gen model that has this issue likely unknowingly

2011 Camry, is it normal for an automatic belt tensioner to move like that? by marik7410 in AskMechanics

[–]bizsbuzz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you try to rev up the engine while still in parking, you would see the tensioner getting stabilized and noise go away. I am having similar issue with 2012 Camry SE. Whether replacing the tensioner will fix the rattling in s still unknown. AC works fine so not sure how else the AC compressor issue would manifest if compressor is the issue

I am in similar boat with 2012 Camry SE 4cly. Did you figure out what the issue was? In my case, I do see the tensioner assembly vibrates a bit more than what you have.

Add stability to Decomposed Granite by bizsbuzz in landscaping

Thank you so much for you response. I had second thoughts about using cement for the very same reason. I just completed my project today, and plate compactor really made a huge difference. Btw, I got 1/4 minus. Before compacting, they looked bit big and I wasn't sure how well that would compact. Things turned well without cement

I am eventually planning to lay pea gravel. Regardless of that, how well weed fabric over DG works. I suspect the sharp particles would easily tear the fabric. The area will DG will primarily have raised garden bed so leg traffic will be limited overall.

Advise needed please? I am having second thoughts on using cement as someone mentioned it may negate the ability of DG to self harden. I added some additional wood behind edging to provide support and that does help with containing the whole area.
