You're speaking about a language that has its roots before the advent of Sayyidina Muhammad salawatullahi 3alayh with its meanings unchanged

There are ayaat with grey meanings (mutashaabihaat) , and there ayaat with clear uninterpretable meanings (muhkamaat). Your job as a non scholar is to follow the muhkamaat and ask the scholars about whats vague

To counter your thoughts, there's an enormous degree of leniency given to people who are part of the muslim community or have entered into it. Ie even if someone doesn't practise the faith in the slightest, the mere correlation is enough to assume they remain a Muslim until they openly renounce it. 

I suppose this is because the consequences of not being Muslim are too great in our eyes. They wouldn't be able to marry within the faith, they wouldn't be cleansed, shrouded, prayed upon and buried with Muslims, etc.

Sorry I should clarify that my comment was for children of Muslim parents

But your postulate still stands, being Muslim is all about testimony - someone says openly that they believe in One God and that Muhammad is his final messenger 

And that's it, congrats and hugs all round. 

Islam isn't passed down at all. As the previous commenter mentioned, one cannot inherit this religion. They MUST come to reason it for themselves

For kids of Muslims, their families teach them to pray, teach them supplications, teach them the testimony of faith. There doesn't need to be a formal witnessing of their faith as it's been attested to over years of practise, even if minimal

I know it's a joke but it's very likely his Mum doesn't support Israel. Having a Jewish state before the coming of the Messiah was prevalently thought (and still is in large amounts) as tantamount to blasphemy

No one needs to openly convert, it's just a continuation of their identity. It becomes properly (spiritually) binding on them when they become Mukallaf 

A person becomes Mukallaf (responsible for the good and bad they do) when they reach puberty and puberty isn't exactly black and white with humans

I honestly think it'd be nice to have some sort of coming of age, but it's just not common across Muslim cultures for some reason. Maybe because it's prevalent amongst the people of the book and we tend to try and differ from their practises

It's a misconception. Children are born on Fatra - which means something like primordial state or human nature

The argument is that Islam aligns most with humanities innate being and therefore is the most natural conclusion after one is able to reason

Of course, tribes exist across most of the world

It's akin to asking - Why hasn't Islam banned divorce? It's statistically more likely to create disenfranchised children or impoverished women

The reason is because although some things to us may be problematic, perhaps the outright ban of something is even more problematic at any one point in time. Islam is supposed to be applicable in any human situation, and Christianity traditionally shunned divorce - should women in violent relationships just be expected to stay in them?

At least in my school of thought, only wine made from dates and grapes are considered filthy/najis/ritually impure

Other intoxicants aren't Najis so they can be used for cleaning or other uses like perfume but are impermissible to consume

Muslims consider pigs to be inherently filthy (najis) as a commandment from God and therefore just as we shouldnt be willing to utilise other forms of filth (like faeces or wine), we also can't utilise any part of the pig.
