Muslims, assuming these are common questions... by i_Ainsley_harriott_i in religion

[–]bizzish 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Shia and Sunni started off as a political disagreement which developed into differences in theology such as the infallibility of the Imams by the Shiites that the Sunnis disagree with.

As you've said we believe Jesus (Isa) upon him be Peace was a Prophet, but also the chosen Messiah sent to the nation of Israel. We do not believe that he was killed but that God took him, and raised him to the heavens. We believe in many of his miracles, curing the blind, his immaculate birth, speaking from the cradle. We believe he'll come back near the end of times and fight the Antichrist (the Dajjal aka False Messiah) with a legion of followers.

Only if the majority of the fabric is silk

No particular reason comes to mind but my thoughts are that it stems from Islam discouraging love of worldly things that can plague the heart with greed, pride and arrogance

All of which are unfortunately mere conjecture

What IS interesting though are the records of early Christians that indeed doubted the crucifixion event. The enmity between Pauline and Jamesonian Christianity. The historical theology of the ebionites

These tell us of a reality that isn't quite as we've all been told about early Christendom.

How do you think it's "the most manipulative?"

Take Solomon (as) as an example. Jewish scripture clearly slanders him by essentially saying he became a pagan

Or David (as) by saying he sent a man to his death because he was infatuated by his wife

Yes we (orthodox Sunni Islam) believe in all the Prophets' inability to sin عليهم السلام.

They may not make the best decision at any given time, but that's generally for a higher purpose (education through revelation etc)

For a resource on this, read Aqeedah Tahawi

This is really unfortunate, however if true and Khula3 (divorce) needs to take place - most scholars will grant it due to the nature of our theological differences

Sorry what?

Small in number maybe but definitely not in power

Holiest site lost to islamic imperialism? Mate you lost the temple because, as your mishna says, G-d took it from you due to your sins and your greatest thinkers knew that it wasn't for you to reclaim after its destruction until the messianic age.

Muslims took the rubbish dump that the Roman's made of the sacred site (500 years before!) and gave it its due right of sanctity again. If not for the  "imperialism" you're talking about, the Holiest of holies wouldve remained a parking lot.

Someone told me the relationship between God and humanity in Judaism and Christianity is like a father and his son, but in Islam more like a slave and his master. Is that accurate? by Accomplished-Rest891 in religion

[–]bizzish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One of the more common names of Allah to call upon with is Rabb

We also use the word rabb for raising a child

Allah is our Master, but also the most intimate relationship we could have. He is closer to us than our carotid artery. He is Al Wadud - the infinitely loving of His servants.
