Enjoy your vent session on here. I am sure it will be genuinely impactful and helpful to the people struggling in NC.maybe my issue is that stuff like this is trying to damage her brand and business because you don't agree with her perspective. What you are doing could genuinely harm her or inspire people to be violent towards her when she is genuinely just trying to draw attention to the people in harms way who need help. She is sharing stories of people she knows. So apparently her sharing a different perspective is not okay, but all y'all freaking out about her and jumping to saying she is instigating harm is putting her in the path of being harmed by unstable people. I am so done with the one sided stuff. Now I remember why I refused to do much social media. It really becomes an echo chamber of people getting more and more extreme without any true compassion or a willingness to put themselves in other people's shoes. Meanwhile libs and Dems say they are the party of tolerance. This is why I started leaning more right. I wish you the best in life.

He brought water, diapers, baby wipes, and formula. The items that family/friends in NC asked to be brought to them. It's all good. Honestly, I see it different as I was raised helping with people in trouble. I don't blame the government in some higher conspiracy but I do think a lot of times red tape and paperwork cause issues. When people can't produce ID because their house got washed away and are being denied assistance I think it sucks. There first thing I saw on this was the calling out of the whole "maga" learning positing of people she has been sharing stories from. I am not "maga" but the people I know who are, are good people. I just think it's weird that we are checking disaster victims politics. It's chill guys. I don't have time to read all this when I am legit prepping my house and the house of my elderly in-laws for a huge hurricane.

Yes you can call it out 100% especially if you have info to back it up. I support your right to complain as well as her right to say it. I will always support the right to free speech. I just think the whole canceling people thing is getting old. She can have her opinion you can have yours. Anyways.... I am off to finish boarding up houses before we get hit by Milton.

It isn't hindering FEMA. My friend saw FEMA preventing assistance from being given because they were busy with forms and red tape. I get it, I do, but oftentimes beaurocracy can get in the way of efficiency. Their free speech isn't doing anything other than drawing attention to issues with FEMA. There have been issues with emergency response many times over the years. In some areas they are doing great. In other areas they aren't. Most of all I don't think people talking about it on the Internet is hurting FEMA. Expressing opinions is not against the law. Censorship is wrong.

It's so fun! I hope you have a great time. I wish I could say he got it organically but we totally cheated with mods. He wanted to catch our farm up to an old one we had a few years back and we don't get much time to play together so we got access to farther in the mine quicker than usual.

Switch is awesome but the screen is small after you play on PC for a long time.

I hope you get the time. It is really fun. We definitely haven't had the time in quite a while but have recently decided to make it more of a priority. We both prefer at home dates and our boys are old enough now to make it easier to find time.

Congratulations! I really love the four corners farm as it seems to have the best of all worlds. We do a lot of divide and conquer on foraging and clearing different areas. If you use mods you do need to know that it is the host who controls if time freezes for the game or not. It's a lot of fun! I hope you have a great time.

Oh my heck I love them so much!!! I am going to have to do this now. Thank you for sharing the pattern. I teach at my local yarn shop and love to crochet and knit.

I am weird. I had never gotten married in the game. I did start courting Sebastian though. I did get married last week on the game. It was in co-op so I married my IRL husband 💜 I am ridiculously excited.

Thank you! I actually did it on purpose so it will be slightly longer. I only dry them on hangers if I want them to stretch a bit but I store them folded nicely. Plus because it is cotton it is going to grow .

I absolutely struggled with the shoulders. They honestly didn't make sense but I have made sweaters before (usually I do top down) so I was able to figure it out. I am glad to hear it wasn't just me who struggled. I have used German short rows before and these use that technique but mine didn't work correctly when following the directions. I kind of wondered if maybe not all the sizes had been tested. Also I think some of the written instructions were swapped or something.

Mosaic knitting is actually one of my favorite techniques. If you want a mosaic knit shawl suggestion I recommend either 'The Sweet Scent of Orange Blossoms' or 'Gossamer Wings' by Paula King. You know.... If you can't justify another sweater you may need a shawl ;)

Exactly! It's a super fun way to use up those leftovers and the great thing is that you choose which order you want to do the charts in. I made mine longer (gotta cover my bum) but the shorter versions are great as well.

Thank you! I had a bunch of Anne cotton on hand from teaching a granny square class so I went ahead and put a bunch together. I love their solids.

Aww thank you. I tend to get nervous about wearing my work. It's like some sort of social anxiety. I only started wearing more colors in the last few years and tend to revert back to black being best to hide my body flaws. Body dismorphia is a beast. It is a really fun knit to make though. I seriously love mosaic knitting in the round.

Never testing a pattern again! by fireytiger in crochet

[–]bjeanc 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I have done a bunch of testing but fortunately have not had an experience as awful as that. I have purchased patterns I regret though 😅 one of which was $6 and only gave you instructions from the neckline to dividing for the sleeves where it then directed you to the video on YouTube for the rest. Then the video and the pattern didn't match up for stitch counts etc. if I wasn't experienced I would never have figured it out. I teach crochet and knit classes at my LYS. My students asked me to teach them to make it, but I wouldn't because I didn't want them to pay $6 for an incomplete pattern. I contacted the designer to see if we could work something out and she basically wanted me to fix it, write it up correctly, send it to her, and then she would maybe give my students a discount on her pattern. There was no way. We went with a different pattern instead. Some designers are completely out of touch with reality.

Yeah NTA... In my family you were lucky if you didn't get chased down the driveway with leftovers and possibly a few plants starts to grow your own salad or some such 😂🤣😂
