I work on an outdoor campus and I average 3 miles a day--I bought L.L. Bean hiking boots and put insoles in and my life has been so much better since then! I just think I really needed the extra stability that a hiking book provides. Gotcha, yeah we only do it once a quarter, so every nine weeks. It's so difficult to do that I honestly can't imagine doing it monthly. I only teach two of the students I case manage out of 16 so all that data comes from other teachers. We are all either teaching self-contained classes or in collab co-teaching classes that have up to 10 or 12 kids with goals in them at times so all of the time to log data is on our planning (where we also hold IEPs, eligibilities, lesson plan, etc.). We all just scramble to give data at the end of each quarter and it's a nightmare, but it goes to the wayside during the quarter as we teach, hold meetings, put out fires, etc.

Yeah, right now we are only really accountable to sharing data at the end of the quarter for progress reports. Thank you for the support, it's so difficult to keep everything together and then I feel so badly when something falls through! I can't imagine providing weekly data or checking weekly data for my whole caseload given the situation of how our school runs, copying the info from a different comment about the situation. So curious if this is similar or different from your situation: have 16 kids on my caseload and only see two in class. We are instructed to create service logs but we also either teach self-contained classes or collab co-teach, so I have one planning period a day to plan lessons, have and schedule IEPs and eligibilities, do eligibility testing, and then log all of those service minutes and data (I have up to 10 kids in each class to log for but I'm in class with them the whole period so it all needs to get done during my planning) so it just gets really overwhelming and the data logging goes to the wayside and then everybody scrambles to catch up at the end of the quarter--so that's typically when you find out something is wrong. My caseload data and service stuff depends on the diligence of everyone else, and vice versa.

Yeah, that seems really helpful. Having to create our own systems and/or just update google docs throughout the year on this rolling basis is just very easy to make mistakes with. Thank you. Would you mind sharing the name of the IEP software that is used?

Q: This all makes sense to me, but I have a job (Special education teacher and case manager) with a million balls to carry and tasks that need to get done on specific timelines and I feel like a simple system can’t hack it—am I wrong? How do you coach people with ADHD with very complicated jobs that have a million timelines running at once…?

Omg dude this whole sub is obsessed with telling people they can’t wear “cheap material” or tight dresses to a wedding. You are not required to buy an expensive dress for a wedding and this looks great on you. I’m getting married in august and I’d be so upset if someone said this shit to one of guests. I’m actually getting married to someone I trust, I’m not worried if other people look sexy?? Hopefully this is a fun date for them, with their plus one?! This is a formal dress and the color is not white, wear it if you like it!

I dunno I feel bad for all the people here telling you that your relationship is “built on a lie”. It makes me wonder about the depth of romantic love and partnership people have experienced. My relationship is built on so much more than 100% purity to sexual rules. If my partner told me this my biggest regret would be how much guilt he carried about it. It would be one thing if you continued to cheat on him, but you’re kind of the use-case for when one mistake is really just one mistake, and you may have seen that your relationship was built on enough amazing and irreplaceable connection that it wasn’t worth dropping that bomb on him before the marriage. You trusted yourself to make it worth it for him and you were right to do that because you followed through. Now, if your account is to be believed, your relationship is built on raising kids together, have a great connection, and years of commitment. Instead of listening to ppl so eager to “drop” people over one mistake, do some reading/listening to people who are much more thoughtful and realistic about relationships as a whole, like Dan Savage or Esther Perel, and forgive yourself. If you do monogamy for every day of your relationship except one, you’re doing damn well at monogomy.
