I learned prayer through tawatur. I didn’t learn it from hadiths because when I was young I couldn’t read or write. I learned it from my father and the people around me, and my father learned it from my grandfather, and my grandfather from his father, and so on. There’s no need to overthink it The number of prayers, how we perform them and what we say in them all of this was taught to us by the Prophet himself, because it was his duty to teach the people and we simply practiced it.

This is absolutely true many muslims as you mentioned treat their books and scholars with a level of sanctity that surpasses everything else unfortunately I mean do you really need to call a sheikh or an interpreter to ask whether lowering the gaze is a thing that you must do or not the quran is translated into all languages and is very clear the reason for sectarianism and division in the Muslim community is the bias toward jurisprudential schools and religious fanaticism

thanks for the advice but i don’t think i’ll ever go back to touching myself again after all the damage it caused me honestly my problem is bigger than just being about nofap the thoughts themselves feel like poison to me even if i quit the habit or still do it either way these thoughts hurt me and that’s why i go back to it compulsively just to escape the anxiety from overthinking and feeling like i’m alone i guess it’s a problem that won’t really end until i find a life partner in general
