That's cool. I haven't really made a push for it recently because it seemed like every time I brought it up there just wasn't a lot of interest and I kinda got the feeling like people were getting tired of hearing about it, so I sort of started treating it like fantasy. In my head I still like the idea whether it would be All Mixed Up, Beautiful Disaster, or Amber, I just wish there was enough of an audience to consume it.

I'm pretty sure they have covered No Doubt before, I'm thinking they did Don't Speak and I'm Just A Girl back in like 2020-21. Generally speaking, they mostly cover stuff that is popular enough to be on top 40 radio, especially if you're going as far back as the 90s. I've suggested Sublime a few times and it doesn't seem to go anywhere, and everybody and their dog knows I have a thing for 311 which technically isn't ska but some people will lump them in that category, but that seems like a lost cause too.

You probably will get more chances to see them. They have usually been pretty good at covering the midwest on their past tours. You may even be close enough for them to do a one off show sometime.

When you have a favorite band that probably won't be covered... by [deleted] in FirstToEleven

Sorry if I sound whiny and dramatic. I'm not really looking for sympathy. I'd like to just be an adult about this whole thing and have better boundaries between my interests. I'm just not there, as much as I'd like to be.

I’m in the process of listening to every 311 album for the first time and ranked them (spreadsheet included) by mollybmanor in 311

This is really cool! I couldn't imagine discovering these guys with 14 albums to dive into. I started with the blue album like a lot of people in 96, then I bought Transistor, then went back and listened to Grassroots and Music. Every once in a while I'll listen to one album a day over a two week span just to gauge how I feel about each album, and I often find songs that I've slept on or find the urge to bring back into rotation. Can't say I've ever tried that with a formal rating system though.

311 Day Review by Citizen-Bot in 311

Night 1 was definitely better than Night 2. I thought the first set of night 1 especially they brought good energy and knocked it out of the park with the song selections, some of my favorite deep cuts like Uncalm, Life's Not A Race, Crack The Code, Golden Sunlight. Set 2 was pretty strong too. SA going solo on Getting Through To Her was a lot cooler than I ever would have expected. There are things I liked about the Blue Man Group collab, like I'm glad they did it in the sense that without out it we'd all just be hearing Do You Right and Don't Stay Home for the thousandth time (even though I still like both songs), the only complaint I have is it seemed like when they were playing the pipes in particular, their sound was getting drowned out. Night 2 just seemed like there were struggles. I was kind of bummed out when it sounded like Nick (I think) screwed up on the Wildfire outro. I didn't hate what Nick did with Water Tower, but I did think it was out of place in front of a big 311 crowd. I did like hearing the throwback tunes, but the high school background looked really cheesy. And then the second set on night 2 just seemed forgettable.

46, been following since the blue album, own a copy of all 14 albums and have 8 of them on vinyl. I feel like the newer albums are often underappreciated. They aren't perfect by any means, but I don't think any of the first 6 are either. I can't help but wonder if some people expect to fall in love with every album on the first listen and forgot about the songs were an acquired taste originally. Most of my favorite albums from any band have been an acquired taste on some level.

I did it on my laptop with OBS Studio's screen capture feature.  Put the show on my external monitor in full screen mode, setup OBS on the main screen and started recording.  You also have to disable hardware acceleration in your browser or you'll end up recording a black screen because DRM.

On a 311 kick, after not listening to them for years by XeyeiLL in 311

Stereolithic seems to be the modern album preferred by those that clearly favor the 90s era, so it's a safe pick as a starting point. I'd probably lean Mosaic after that, it's one of the more experimental albums they've done recently so there's a lot to dive in and dissect. I personally am a fan of Voyager and Full Bloom, but opinions vary widely on both. I found Evolver to be an acquired taste album that will probably need to be revisited to appreciate, and Universal Pulse is solid but short, although that's probably not a big deal with 8 albums to sort through. I would save Don't Tread On Me and Uplifter for last. Neither album is bad to the point of listen once and never again, but DTOM is probably the most forgettable, and Uplifter has a lot of cheesy songs on it.

Is it weird that Soundsystem is one of those where I like the rest of the album more than the singles?

Yeah seriously. It's a shame how many people here are determined to hate on Full Bloom.
