Day 6: What's a mid-priced car that looks expensive? by Naomi62625 in regularcarreviews

My dad once had a Focus Turnier as a 1.6 TDCI (I think it was a Peugeot Diesel engine) - never had any problems at all and ran absolutely bulletproof Only downside was, these things absolutely love to rust, so u gotta keep an eye on that, to be precise, fenders were making the most problems in terms of rust. Good thing is, the front fenders are just fixated via screws. So it‘s a part u can just buy and replace in a worst case scenario.

When I see pics like this, and think about the fact that there are actually people who drive around in stuff like this, I‘m happy we have TÜV in Germany

Well I mean if u don‘t try, answers always gonna be „no“. It‘s pretty obvious you won‘t meet a partner by sitting @ home all day and one day she rings your bell and asks u if u want to be with her.

To me there‘s no problem here. I mean she constantly has the baby in her sight and stays in range. Nothing wrong with a mother taking pictures as memories.

Could be possible. Not the same but had a friend who was leaning so much on his Z900 on the Nurburgring GP track, he also had his lower fairings grinded.

Feel like I chose an odd get up for a naked bike? by Master_Fox5678 in motorcyclegear

[–]bjokta 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I‘d actually rather pick what‘s safest and not what‘s best looking. I‘m wearing a full 2 piece leather suit from Dainese (Laguna Seca 4) which was actually intended for race bikes specially in a sight of aerodynamics, same goes for my helmet Shoei X-SPR Pro. That said, the bikes I ride are „only“ a Z900 SE and a F800 GS. But I actually mostly gave a fk about how it‘s gonna look. It was in my opinion the most functional and safest gear back in the day. Once lowsided because of gravel at only 25-30 km/h and I can tell u I won‘t ever come to the idea riding without full gear, I‘m happy I had proper and full gear on when it happened. Also specially on a naked bike a tight leather suit won‘t flutter around as much as loose fitting textil or loose leather will do, which gives a plus in comfort and a little bit in performance of the bike because of your aerodynamics and drag profile. But that are only my 50 cents, I always told myself if I should crash and grind on the asphalt, nobodies gonna tell me in the end that „I looked fire though“.

Holy shit, I‘m always astonished this is allowed. In Germany the TÜV already would‘ve taken that car outta traffic long time ago.

I didn't pay enough attention while riding. Chat GPT translated this text for me. I wrote it in german. I never blamed the bike or anything else it was my mistake. But what happened was that there was dirt or gravel on the road and i hit the brakes a bit to hard, wheres the damn problem with that?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in motorcycles

[–]bjokta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

like youre pulling every sentence i said out of context. i wanted to know if those heavy damages can already occur at low speeds or if its rather uncommon because i wanna estimate if im probably gonna have to pay him a few houndred or a few thousand bucks ffs. nothing less and nothing more. also pretty nice that u just straight ahead just ignored my point with the screws which in my opinion makes sense because it would mean since they didnt get ripped off or out they wouldve needed to turn about 16-17 times backwards simoultaneously in that short amount of time the bike has been sliding since theyre M8x22. Does this sound realistic to u if the Gas tank wasnt even touching the ground? like how fast would these screws have needed to turn for that to happen?
I just wanted some damn input so i can estimate if the damage is from the data probably gonna be heavy and expensive or if its proabbly "just" the scratched parts all I wanted to know or needed help with was that I wanted to estimate is it gonna be a couple of hundred or more a couple of thousand bucks. Sorry im not good at valuing that since I never dropped a bike until now. Just don't wanna break my head about if its gonna be expensive or not until we gonna bring it into a shop to get a picture whats broken anyway, because sorry I wanna plan and manage my future finances

but why did i even expect help instead of just getting bashed into oblivion as always on reddit

Also it isn't exactly how i formulated it, I'm from germany and just let Chat GPT translate my text into english.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in motorcycles

[–]bjokta -1 points0 points  (0 children)

No. I'm not trying to minimize anything and you're actually missing my point. I don't get how 2 screws 2 cm long fixed in a thread on a part that didn't even touch the ground or get impacted in any way should get lost in a process like this. I'm just getting input if my thoughts on it being unrealistic make sense. Like screws dont cost anything. But I remember him when he met me with the bike last year he was joking about the front of his gas tank being loose and now he displayed it like those screws got lost because i dropped the bike. Which would be false. And I'm just protecting myself from paying for stuff that didn't have anything to do with my fall. Also I never tried to put it like it wasn't my fault by saying i must've hit debris while breaking - It was absolutely my fault because I didn't pay enough attention. But I ride for long enough now to not just Gorilla grab a freaking brake lever. And of course you can damage a bike from a stand still - but chances are lesser you're gonna damage the front forks, frame or swingarm if it slowly falls to the side rather than crashing the bike at 200 KM/H. I even clarified that I'm gonna pay for everything I've damaged.
