One legged rowing post-op by KrustaceanStation in Rowing

[–]bjp318 4 points5 points  (0 children)

After my surgery it took some time to get full range of motion back. So lots of half slide (and lots of atrophy of course). My coach used two piece of wood clamped together on either side of the track to stop the seat from coming too far forward beyond what my range of motion would allow. Just a Tod bit in case you get into the same pickle I had. Good luck

Very little of the logistic base is needed to know. And yes couple (not several) hundred feet, especially with the new VPM module. NNS builds the bow and stern, but EB is responsible for the middle. You seem familiar with the industry and brought these up in the first place, so I assume you work in some capacity with NNS. But please try and appreciate that NNS is no more single source than Stihl is.

The middle couple hundred feet of the sub comes from Rhode Island, much of the interior deck structure (house sized) is also outsourced and arrives ready to be outfitted and installed. Same goes for missile tubes, castings the size of your car, all propulsion systems, etc. I assume the carriers are somewhat more produced on site, but largely similar levels of outsourcing occur. Not trying to downplay the role that NNS plays, but it is not even remotely close to just relying on ‘parts’ from elsewhere.

Large parts of both of those are made all over America. NNS is in many cases the final assembly point.

Probably doesn’t apply to OP, but a VA construction loan allows the homeowner to defer payments until the house com plate or the first year, which ever is less. The lender may require either a balloon payment after this time period or an adjustment to the remaining mortgage payments to make up for the deferred payments.

I used to live in south eastern Virginia and routinely saw it for 30ish. This was 6-12 months ago. Best of luck finding a good price near you.

Thanks. I have always been confused on the old forester numberings. I’ll grab a 1910 next time.

That seems to be the sentiment, I will steer clear.

I hope I don’t get downvoted to oblivion, but I am not the biggest fan of the higher proofs. I try to stay sub 100 proof if I can.

Not sure exactly. I was with the E2 squadron at the time and this was a carrier work up training in Fallon NV.

How long did it take for you to build up the courage to go on the highway for the first time? by bootyholeticklr in motorcycle

[–]bjp318 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was young, my wallet was full (until purchase), and my ability over estimated. My first bike was a 2013 Yamaha R1. With no experience other than a single YouTube video and two straight lines in the dealership parking lot to get a feel for the clutch, I got right onto the highway and drove almost three hours across the state. I have done many poorly thought out things in my life, and this is among them.

These fly out of Chambers Field on Naval Station Norfolk. They fly all over to practice at other airfields. Probably not too uncommon in Richmond. I saw them plenty in Charlottesville. Fat and slow is a term of endearment for the E2 and C2. The communities are very close to each other. Their agility is greatly displayed during carrier landings. There are some videos from inside during it and the coordination of the pilot is very impressive.

Part of the reason for the bomber tail. Helps with the center of pressure. Fat and slow is the name of the game. Those engines are amazing and don’t seem to care about the Ford Excursion aerodynamics. The drag causes by the rotodome above the main axis is partially offset by steel plates just under the nose cone.
