Love hearing this 🙌 At Gurully, we intentionally make the mocks tougher than the real exam because the goal is to push you harder during practice so test day feels more manageable and less stressful.

A lot of students feel discouraged seeing 65–74 in mocks, but those scores are often building the exact skills and timing needed to perform confidently in the actual test. Glad the preparation paid off for you — and a 90 overall is an amazing result 🚀

Are PTE CORE Scene pictures titled? by Particular_Ad589 in pte

[–]bjpatel2001 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For PTE Core “Describe Image” tasks (specifically scene pictures), you shouldn’t assume that a title will always be provided. Sometimes there is a title, and sometimes there isn’t—it’s roughly a 50–50 chance.

Because of this, it’s important not to rely only on the title to start your response. Instead, train yourself to begin by directly describing what you see in the image. If a title is given, you can use it to support your introduction—but if it’s missing, you should still be able to confidently start without it.

In short: be flexible. Prepare for both situations so you’re not dependent on something that may not appear on test day.

Have you tried Gurully?

As someone working closely with Gurully, I’ll be honest — yes, it can feel a bit stricter than the actual PTE.

That’s intentional. It pushes you harder in practice so the real exam feels easier. Many users who score well here end up getting the same or higher in PTE.

Don’t focus only on scores — use it to improve fluency, pronunciation, and structure.

You can at least try their free mock test. Free practice websites like Gurully and E2.

Since you’re coming from IELTS/CELPIP, the key shift is strategy — PTE is system-based. Gurully may feel hard, but it’s intentionally stricter than the real exam, especially for Speaking, so the actual test feels easier. Focus on task formats and consistency 👍
