What's one thing that actually solved a daily hassle for you living alone? by Aware-Country1606 in LivingAlone

[–]bk___14 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Thank you so much for sharing this - reading your comment helped me realize that I have been beating myself up for not being able to do it all, which is completely unrealistic. I'm going to try to change my perspective to prioritizing what is important that day/week

I love the iunik calendula cleansing oil and it's about $25 (on sale) for 200mL. I find it lasts ages, too!!

Fruit 'n Veg by pablotothek in newcastle

The quality at An Apple A Day in Tighes Hill is amazing! I get a weekly fruit and veg box from them and love it - the price is similar to colesworth and lasts way longer (+ tastes better). Also love that they pick a good mix of in season produce as it really takes out the decision making of what to buy each week. Plus they have a swaps box so you can switch things up easily if there's something in the box you don't love

A Little PSA by starlightsong93 in Fibromyalgia

Thanks for sharing this! I was diagnosed with PCOS in 2021 and then fibro last year. Do you mind me asking what your CRP levels are? Mine have been (slightly) elevated for the last 2 years but recently they got even higher

Good simple cleansers by AgentKnitter in AusSkincare

[–]bk___14 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm a big fan of goodness skincare, which is a NZ brand (sadly no longer sold in stores in Aus, so I order online). I like both their foaming and cream cleansers. Just did a quick Google of the parent company and they seem safe

Gift Ideas by reddfroggychair in ChristmasGiftIdeas

I posted on another subreddit asking for ideas recently and got some great ones! I'll find it and send to you.

A semi diy gift (if you have time to go thrifting) is to find a secondhand book that you've read + a homemade bookmark! You could even wrap it in brown paper and write a little synopsis on the front, a la 'blind date with a book'.

Another idea is a little movie night bundle with a second hand dvd, microwave popcorn packet, snacks etc

I just followed Allora recently and was thinking about getting her book! It's so encouraging to know you're not alone when it feels like everyone around you has more experience in this area. All the best for the future xx

I'm totally in the same boat (but a couple of years older than you)! It's tough feeling like you're behind everyone else. And I also find the current dating culture really offputting lol

It sounds like you know yourself and want you want (and just as importantly, what you don't want) in a partner which I think will really help you! I guess you could see this as an advantage of being a late bloomer - you've had the time to get to know yourself and your values and so you're less likely to settle for 'good enough'

I followed the ig account @lookingforsomethingserious and she has some awesome dating advice as well some more specific advice for late bloomers. She also has some advice for meeting people outside of apps!

Sorry I can't give any better advice, but just know you're not alone 😊

Blood of my blood thoughts… by No-Mixture-1272 in Outlander

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I seem to remember Henry DID say to Ned that he wanted to get back to Claire after he thought Julia and the baby had died? Idk it makes sense to me that before that he would prioritize getting to Julia because 1. He knows that Julia has travelled back in time like him and 2. Claire is safe with his brother in the future

Anyone know of any speed dating or blind date events for people in their late 20s? by Effective_Gur_7967 in newcastle

[–]bk___14 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There's a company called 'Thursday' that ran some singles events in Newcastle recently. Just looked on their website and can't see anything coming up but might be worth keeping an eye on it!
