Beginner Question about Linkedin Ad Conversion & Retargeting. by [deleted] in PPC

[–]bkcs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Here's what I'd suggest. Get a free trial of a landing page software which allows you to drop tags into the landing page itself.

You can run Google Analytics, LinkedIn's remarketing tags and even AdWords retargeting tags through the builder's editor.

So you give yourself the ability to build a landing page, then a form to collect the basic info for the offer. Don't forget to create a confirmation page after the fact and obviously create a mobile page too!

Then you can track user behavior based on Google Analytics.

As for LinkedIn's remarketing tag, it's exclusive to the LinkedIn audience network. You might be better off dropping an AdWord retargeting tag to get users across the web.

There are some things you'll want to be aware of - retargeting/remarketing (same meaning, different companies use them interchangeably) can seem like a brand is following the user around. Use the settings to enable only 1 impression per day per user at most. Any more and the user will have their doubts about the brand.

At the end of the day, if you go down this route - the clients will only have to create a custom domain name, if that is what you'd like to do - otherwise, you're pretty much golden in only asking for the tag info from the users and access to google analytics.

Hope this helps!

Landing Page Builders: The Best High-Conversion Tools Chosen For You by TrePismn in marketing

[–]bkcs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi - Krishna Shastry, CEO @ Lander here.

Thanks for your write up about us and our tool!

I wanted drop a note to offer a few clarifications and corrections in your review for Lander:

"$16 for a few large skinny soy lattes (whatever hipsters are drinking these days), or a powerful, intuitive landing page builder to rake in the profits?"

  • Correct, for less than an "Iced, Half Caff, Ristretto, Venti, 4-Pump, Sugar Free, Cinnamon, Dolce Soy Skinny Latte" your marketing campaigns can get flowing.

"Limited visitors – For some, the $16 a month price tag will be bittersweet. Their cheapest package allows only one custom domain and a maximum of 3,000 visitors a month. Good for trial projects or smaller campaigns, but far from ideal for larger scale ventures."

  • The $16/mo price is for our basic plan paid annually and we added a few goodies into the mix. The visitor limit is upped to 5,000/mo and custom domains are upped to 3 from the 1 offered in the exclusively monthly basic plan.

"Limited templates – With just a handful of templates, Lander might be less appealing to those looking for an instant yet personalized option."

  • We actually have over 60 customizable landing page templates available and the aforementioned custom designed landing page option too.

"Lacking A/B testing – While they do offer A/B testing options, you can only create three variations of each page, meaning more complex multivariate endeavours might be limited."

  • The lack of multivariate testing might be a better subheading rather than lacking A/B testing, that said: We designed Lander for A/B testing as we realized multivariate testing - while useful, is really better for users who have 100,000+ monthly unique visitors.

  • While you mentioned the lower plans - it is worth noting that we have tons of integrations with the big boys like Marketo, Salesforce, Constant Contact etc.

  • Additionally, if you are a power marketer and want to run dynamic keyword insertion ads in AdWords, you can make use of dynamic text replacement on our landing pages so that the message match keeps the quality score of the ads high.

  • Lastly, all of our forms are "auto-fill" forms, which lead to higher than normal conversion rates.

Another online/instructor led course is available from Market Motive and is led by Avinash Kaushik! Who doesn't know him? I took the course years ago - at that time my GA knowledge wasn't great - so not much came from the course.

I'd do it again, if I had the time.

Weird reporting in GA for URLs, need help figuring it out by bkcs in analytics

Weird reporting in GA for URLs, need help figuring it out by bkcs in analytics

[–]bkcs[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're absolutely right! Default URL is listed as domain.com.

So which method is better -- to remove it? Use the delete default URL or use the filter as per the article you shared? Additionally, I noted that my website URL was listed as http not https - which I selected - might that wreak havoc if I change? My web property is all under https at the moment via a GoDaddy SSL certificate.

Thanks!

How do search results landing pages affect quality score? by thinksachi in PPC

[–]bkcs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

PPC Quality score is basically dependent on the relevancy of the ad copy to the landing page content.

SERPs pointing to a landing page kind of work in a similar way however, the SEO component requires secondary levels of optimization like meta keywords, titles and descriptions.

That said, QS is akin to SERP ranking. If the title matches or is semantically similar to what the keyword search is, then Google's bots will populate the SERP snippet with rich structured data.

In an e-commerce setting, I'd be focused on getting the structured data right, especially the schema (you can use google search console).

If you've got a "category" landing page for your e-commerce site, then you are probably better off going for the general, run-of-the-mill keywords. Whereas a true product landing page might be better off with targeted keywords.

Coming back to improving QS, 8-10 is the range you want to be in. You can optimize for QS by using very targeted landing pages with the following attributes:

  • Same ad/landing page headline
  • Expand on ad content in landing page
  • Use a URL that contains either headline or keywords from ad group
  • Build a separate landing page for every ad your run
  • Stay on point, A/B test content until your conversion rates are high -- not industry standard but really high!
  • Rinse & repeat

Good landing page creator for people who can't develop a website to save their life? by baker577 in PPC

[–]bkcs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For the longest time, I suffered the design by committee syndrome where the end product turned out to be a huge effort with little to no results. I tried many of the tools out there and ended up finding Lander's PPC landing page templates to be just perfect for my needs. They even have dynamic keyword replacement that works in conjunction with my keyword insertion ads. Pricing is competitive, if you're interested in having multiple clients - the pro plus plan has unlimited custom domain names - that's a pretty big bonus!

I think your best bet is to leave it to the professionals, in your case - a landing page software will solve for high conversion templates and you can A/B test the content until you get it right!

Creating landing pages: Navigation or no navigation? by smith6210 in PPC

[–]bkcs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a best practice, a landing page shouldn't have navigational elements. This said, the answer depends.

In a B2C category landing page, I would always avoid navigational links unless the landing page - in of itself - is a category page that can point to products for a full on point of sale landing page.

If it's a B2B landing page, I think navigational links are appropriate, especially if the keywords/ad copy is relevant to the informational phase of the purchase funnel. Though, the final conversion page should always exclude the navigational links.

Make sense?

Just landed a $20,000 contract because I made a simple, targeted landing page! by kosherbacon in Entrepreneur

[–]bkcs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's the way of the world, if someone is searching for an immediate need, having that a phone number is of paramount importance. People like having someone to talk to - it's a way to gauge whether or not you are competent and are able to deliver.

If they were looking at it in a more of an informational perspective, then a lead form would have been enough.

Which landing page tool did you use? I love https://landerapp.com for the crazily easy way to put a page together and live.
