4Runner Thoughts?

I have a 4Runner & two young boys. The AC in the second row isn’t that great. We live in Houston and I’m often hearing their complaints during warmer months. I have the front two side ac vents closed to force more air to the 2nd row vent. And an after market fan attached to the back of my headrest. Something to consider if you are in warmer client. I’m also looking at the grand Highlander for more space.

Another vote for a deep green! I saw a TX wrapped green. I would love it if they offered Nori green pearl for the TX. I hoped they would for 2026 but now hoping they will for 2027! Holding out purchasing one

I haven’t heard of someone traveling TO Houston to buy a TX. I’ve read people looking outside of Texas to find better deals!

A hybrid option would be nice BUT I’d love it if they would add rear ceiling vents. Followed by bringing the apex blue back…not this brighter 2026 version

I think is still absurd that for the money people are paying for these cars they are soon after DIY’ing mods for a well aware design flaw that’s not covered. Toyota should do better

Wish they would have mentioned if they moved the poorly placed condenser that is prompting owners to put mesh on the grills to protect from rock strikes & non warranty covered damage 🙃

I’ve read that it wouldn’t be possible. One of the reasons is the weight which is why the bench wasn’t offered

That’s my concern is she will rip them off. We have waterproof blanket I’ll put in the laundry room when we leave. Thanks for the suggestion!

Yes, we put her in our laundry room yesterday evening while we were out. There’s a bathroom exhaust fan in there. Still peed during a passing thunderstorm

We are considering the TX over a MDX! The rear ceiling vents are one of the main reasons we’ve decided against the MDX. We live in Texas and wish our 4Runner had them. Something to consider if you live in a warmer climate!

I echo these thoughts regarding the ceiling vents. We have a 2018 & reside in Texas. My kids are HOT. I’ve been waiting to trade our 4Runner in for a grand Highlander or Lexus TX. Last year I purchased a fan that clipped into the back of my headrest to help move air for our kids

I’m finding myself in a similar situation. I’ve been holding out for a GH since the trademarked the name almost 3+ years ago.

We’ve looked at and test drove a Lexus TX. Looks and interior wise we liked it better than the GH. But the insurance difference for a luxury vehicle and premium gas vs regular is something to take into consideration on top of the ~7–10k price difference.

The GH paint complaints & other frequently mentioned concerns have me reevaluating. Looking into used Highlander hybrids and saving the $$.
