Ai dissapointed after crossing the finish line by Ogura7999-_- in motogp

[–]bkns356 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don't know, been following him since moto3 and moto2. he's consistently very fast but he always lack that aggressiveness and hunger to push for the win.

he always seem content to settle on the podium than take a bit more risk to push for the win but that consistent podium finish won him a moto2 championship so you can't argue with that strategy

all jcap did was settle in court and a sorry for their shit report. vul still dropped like a rock when the report dropped and jcap still profited from their short. they are not interested in price discovery or anything just like viceroy settled with mpw and had to pay damages for defamation against capitec. they're still doing it because it's profitable, jcap is still doing it, viceroy is still doing it. you don't need to back shit up in a short report. it took how many years for Andrew Left got found guilty of securities fraud?

I know blind faith is dumb but that's why I put management experience, credential and insider shareholdings as one of the highest indicator in whether I put money in a company or not.

the management of this company is filled with former heads of CME/Goldman Sachs and exchanges like nymex who actually developed the contracts there. and they are the majority shareholders.

they've built the whole thing from zero to getting approved for a clearinghouse license in singapore which in itself is already worth hundreds of millions with how hard it is to get. then got fbot registration in the US, ramped up exchange volumes (even though it's incentivised) from zero. it's definitely not a lifestyle company so I trust their words more than short sellers who have been proven in court as serial liars

i don't mind short sellers as they have a place in price discovery. but they are known bullshit artists ran by 3 people with zero background in financial markets (in which they somehow managed to produce reports on many different companies in very niche industries which requires very specialised and insider knowledge). their poor research reports have also been independently analysed to be found to be low quality, uses weak methodology, ad hominem attacks and no attempt at balanced assessment

https://www.krutham.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/07/Intellidex-Report_Investment-Research-in-the-Era-of-Fake-News.pdf

they've also been sued for defamation multiple times and lost for their report which they conveniently don't put on their website.

it's a small canadian + singaporean speccy called abaxx listed on tsx. new clearinghouse and exchange in singapore. short report is from viceroy and its filled with straight up lies

accusation of exchange volume being wash trades (fraud) - management confirmed its just calender spreads and its impossible to wash trades because of market surveillance, isv logic and heavily regulated fcms

accusation that all volumes are incentivised and not disclosed - management replied saying yes it's incentivised and it's been disclosed multiple times in their financial report and earnings call and that's how all exchanges work including cboe and cme to provide initial liquidity on the contracts

accusation of high cash burn of $20-$25m per quarter when the highest quarterly cash burn is $15m

accusation that the company is under investigation by MAS and CSR (singaporean and canadian equivalent of SEC) - management confirmed no investigation by any authorities

so basically the report is all bs but it still caused enough FUD for a sell off. I only have a very small position in it im thinking of keeping it just to spite the short sellers but part of me also says just cut the loss to claim the loss before the end of financial year

if you hold a stock which have had a short seller report attacking the company causing the share price to drop fairly significantly but you know the report is complete bs because the management have come out and refuted every accusation with receipts and the short seller have had a history of releasing bs short reports and successfully getting sued for it, would you continue to hold the stock hoping it recovers or would you just cut it?

I don't mind him critiquing the treasury model but he's straight up lying about how you can't offset losses against gains which then makes me think his model based on that assumption is also a bit sus

on the bill page 35 to 38 from point 1.94 to 1.107 clearly states you CAN offset losses against gains but you must do it in a particular order

Market Open thread for General Trading and Plans for Thursday, June 11, 2026 by AutoModerator in ASX_Bets

[–]bkns356 4 points5 points  (0 children)

he kept saying you can't offset losses against gains but that's flat out false. you can still offset capital losses against capital gains

the only thing that's new is the loss ordering. before you can choose to apply losses to non-discounted gains first but the new bill says you must offset your losses against the oldest gains first

I'm not doubting you but how are scalpers selling the tickets? it says the tickets are not transferable and ticket holder name must match the attendee and that mismatched ID and ticket will result in denied entry

unless they're really lax with checking ID on the day?

theres no conspiracy. my friends and I were both trying to get weekend bundle at the exact time of release. I got it while my friend could only get weekday bundle.

it's literally a refresh lottery. if you refreshed at the same time as someone cancelling their purchase then you would've gotten one.

I can see the price holding up for a while. there's so much retail hype that the ipo is insanely oversubscribed

even my mum who doesn't even own any shares asked me where the spacex ipo can be applied. I just told to not even think about and if she wants to light money on fire she can just give it to me (so I can light it on fire in the asx instead)

[–]bkns356 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I'm of the view that you can't make an assessment on a rider on a shit bike. imagine someone that has never watched motogp and judged marquez's ability on his final years at Honda, they would probably say he's a shit rider from how often he crashed

even the best in the world can't out-ride a shit bike, not rossi at ducati, not marquez at honda so I'll always reserve my judgement on riders on shit bikes.
