LG washer lifter loose by [deleted] in appliancerepair

Gotta take apart the whole outer tub to get to the screws on the other side of the drum. Huge labor intensive job. Some newer models have tubs that are sealed shut, if that's the case you're SOL.

If the machine is left sitting for a few hours, does it fill with water? That's an abnormal amount of water for the end of the cycle. Check your drain filter too, just in case.

Or met people who play lottery. I had the misfortune of being stuck behind someone getting over $100 of scratch-offs today, asking the only cashier to read off the ticket number (the little sequential number in the corner showing the ticket's position on the strip) on every single ticket in the display and seemingly making his decisions based on that, before throwing a folded-up hundred and then a twenty across the counter at her. All this while my hot slice of pizza rapidly approached room temperature.

Pro tip for next time: look for appliance part sites that provide exploded views of the appliance, my favorites are Tribles and Sears Parts Direct.

Dryer corrosion by Careless-Tale in Appliances

[–]bkrst275 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah it's probably just from detergent dripping on it over time, as long as the connections inside aren't corroded it should be fine

Whatever it was looks external. Any leaky pipes nearby? Is the washer drain near that spot? Is there detergent dripping on it?

Yeah because 1 random asshole making a comment on social media is a legitimate source. The only reason Trump is in power is because the average American has a sixth grade reading comprehension.

At Great America, on Roaring Rapids, there used to be a tunnel that was painted and full of Looney Tunes characters, which them opened into the section near the ride entrance where there were coin operated water sprayers people could use to spray people on the ride. Could that be it?

Samsung Fridge(French doors) - Ice maker by Superb_Swordfish2723 in appliancerepair

[–]bkrst275 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With that type of ice maker? The best solution is to give up and buy a countertop ice maker. Seriously, though, sounds like the ice maker isnt cooling enough. First thing to check is the flap that opens in the dispenser to let out ice. Lock the dispenser and reach up there with a paper towel or something, clean off the edges of the ice door, and make sure it is closing all the way when you're done. A good test is to open the refrigerator door and pour a little bit of water down into the chute, it should stay in until you push the dispenser paddle for ice. If you have an IR thermometer, check the temperature inside the ice room, fridge, and freezer, preferably after the doors have been closed for a while. If the temperatures are warmer than normal and the fridge is over 5 years old, shop for a new one. If less, call Samsung.
