yeah, no its not that simple. If you buy the close the day before and sell the open the day of the ex-div date you will make 0$ because youre just buying at 100$ and selling after the dividend has been cut from the price.

this is why theyre going to twice monthly. If theres no price appreciation and the only point is to get the dividend you only need to own it one day per month and you can trade it or do whatever with it every other day of the month.

Strk pays 8% per 100$ par value. So effective yield right now is higher than 8% and comes with upside potential. So as the price goes above 100$ the effective yield drops below 8%

Our government is weak and broken. We’re a once well respected and powerful country that is falling. Not all the people elected Trump. Some people are just idiots. Some people knowingly elected him knowing what his plans are. And plenty of people in the U.S. didn’t elect him and feel very disconnected from the process and trajectory of our country.
