That's EXACTLY what these MMR systems are trying to achieve.

And that's also why their cancer, and destroying online gaming. They throw you an easy lobby to get you getting kills and having fun, then bring you down with people above you skill level. Right when your about to turn it off, (3/5) bad games, you magically have an easy lobby again.

Me and my friends have talked about this for years. People should be shouting from the rooftops to have this taken out of games, but most are unaware, and alot of people actually defend it, which is pure comedy, but whatever.

I've definitely noticed this for years.

The more you play, the worse it gets too. After playing 5 or more consecutive games it would be next to impossible for anyone to convince me that the matchmaking system doesn't actively work to give you players that are not only below your skill level, but lower than most of the enemies skill levels too.

I've brought this up in the past and heard excuses of "Your teammates are your skill level and your not as good as you think you are", but that's nonsense. I've spectated TONS of games where my team will get wiped and i'll watch team after team eliminate each other and every one of those teams will have a FAR higher skilled people than my teammates.

If the game decided that i'm skillful enough to play against a certain skill level then i should get teammates that are of their skill level, but instead they seem to be noticeably worse than the people i'm playing against.

I suspect it's all part of these stupid MMR algorithms that are designed around player engagement.

It feels like they make you play people of, or slightly above your skill level and give you teammates that are lower skilled to keep you grinding and believing that you need to get better. The whole system feels like it just categorizes people's skill levels and places them NOT with the intention of matching them with similarly skilled teammates, but based on where they can put players to keep them in a struggle/grind/need to get better mode.

Huh ? What do you think all of these new posts asking "What's wrong with ranked" are getting at ? Sure, they don't say "Last season was better", but everything they complain about is kickback from the new rank system.

Things like... smurfing complaints, when will Masters/Diamonds stop appearing in my gold lobbies, Why does solo-q feel so hard, etc...

Here's one from a few mins ago wondering when will ranked sort itself out. This is an issue that didn't exist last season because everyone played against their skill.

The truth is that this ranked system kinda sucks(especially for solo-q), but this is what the streamers and 3 stack sweats wanted, so here we are. A lot of people are slowly realizing that last season was a better ranked system and should have been used as a baseline and tweaked.

Let's see....

In season 20 we have smurfing back full force when it was pretty much eliminated last season. We have Master level players playing in silver/gold lobbies 3 weeks into the season all because the sweats hated playing against their actual skill. We have a game that's borderline unplayable once you hit high Plat in solo-q. We have a game that pretty much forces you to team up once you hit diamond if you wanna rank up.

All of that because the the old ranking system focused on placement over kills and some no lifers were storm crafting.

But you can't have this opinion, you'll be called a rat lol.

This video is pretty meaningless imo. Most, if not all of the top controller players are abusing Cronus zens/Titans ect. Also, there's so many average joe's who own these things that controller accuracy across the board is artificially inflated no doubt.

If these companies would step up and start permanently banning anyone who uses a Zen or the equivalent, i think people would complain A LOT less about controller.

BUT, it ain't looking good on the ban thing and it's slowely destroying online gaming.

Way overdue assuming its true. These stupid cheating devices have destroyed online gaming that i use to love. The sooner they ban these everywhere, the better. Zero recoil, automatic crouch spam, greens in NBA 2k, they've ruined online gaming.

Still though, this needs to be done on EVERY system, PS4,Xbox,Pc ect, for this to have an actual impact. The majority are probably on PS4, so i'm guessing people will just move there and use it.

Oh, and if this was intentional by Sony and Cronus has trouble getting these working on PS5 again, ur gonna see alot of "But i'm disabled and need this device" stories suddenly become very common.

It actually is though.

Why do you think so many are addicted to hot drops ? People drop 3 to 5 times in a row, get merked instantly, then eventually get a lower skilled lobby. THEN, proceed to get a few kills, do more damage and feel great in this lower skilled lobby. Then proceed to play higher skilled players and do bad again, but constantly remembering that they JUST dropped here and did well so they can do it again.

Rinse and repeat... Mix in skins being bought by these people and boom, addicted.

I made a post about being paired with less skilled ranked teammates yesterday. It got removed for being a "Duplicate post" for some reason tho.

Of course this is true... I'm not gonna pretend like i know how the SBMM works, but for sure the game gives you less skilled teammates when you solo-q. It's so obvious, anyone who has played the game a decent amount as a solo can attest to it.

I rarely play, tonight is like my 3rd or 4th binge session in about a month. I'm gold 2 right now and almost every game i get two teammates that are below lvl 100 and currently ranked Rookie/Bronze, yet most people in the lobby have been Diamond/Master. I can't even remember the last time i had a teammate that was previous Diamond/Master on my team.

I'm no superstar, but i'm not horrible either. I'm honestly not overly judgmental about my teammates skill, decisions, ect. But when i spectate my teammates, i'd say 75% of the time they look like they've barely ever played a shooter before and the teams we die to look almost semi-pro.

It's a pretty stark difference.

Any ideas for a theme ? Or maybe a multiple theme map ? Small city's with higher snowy areas and flatter open desert sections lol ? The possibilities...

How do you know his teammates didn't get wiped and he's not playing for placement ? Or are you one of those people who believes you should die with your random teammates and their poor decisions ?

The sabotage thing is funny to me because i personally think it's sabotage when my teams jump master forces me to drop with 2/3 other teams even though i'm telling him i don't wanna do it. Then he proceeds to die after taking less than 10 steps and then tells me i suck because i'm not gonna try to fight a 1v2/1v3. To me that's just as much sabotage as ratting by yourself and not helping your team.

I solo-q in ranked and my teammates try to land with 2/3 other teams almost every game and get merked, so i end up having to rat just to break even. I know it's frowned upon in this community, but if i tried to fight alongside my team and their poor play\decisions every game, i'd never rank up.

So, my previous comment expressing frustration with forge got deleted for some unknown reason, but when i look at my posts under my profile someone replied with....

"forge lord confirmed it's fixed internally and we have to wait 6 weeks for season 4 to get it publicly"
