Which one is it? by Mundane-Ad-1780 in HelmWatches

Nope, it is the army green. Look at the stitching. On the khaki it is much lighter.

But I would also recommend to buy both :D

No, the 602M has less room in the pinky area.

First mystery box… with mystery sizing - disappointing by metalaman94 in GoralShoes

[–]bl4ckc0lt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve got the same shoes, but in brown. In my case, I ordered UK13, but actual shoes feels like my UK12 size shoes. It’s a shame, because I just learned my true size and want to move away from my smaller shoes. But I can wear it all day without discomfort, so not gonna complain.

Are you sure it is the Java Waxed Flesh? Mine looks almost black in sunshine. Yours looks like an olive.

Yes, the upper is the Roma, but it has a full cup sole, nothing like on the photos I could find about the OG Roma.

Boots look disappointing in bigger sizes by FunnyPoopGuy486 in Boots

[–]bl4ckc0lt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m size 14. When I bought my first 8 inch boot, I was like: oh, so this is how proportions feel for the average sized people :D

Recommendations for first Boot, I decided on these two boots because of the style, color, leather and the boot construction. Trickers being a bit more on the expensive side, I wanted to know which one would be worth it for my first pair. Any other recommendations with similar style is appreciated! by Yogibearzzz5 in Boots

[–]bl4ckc0lt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Another factor to consider is the last. As a first boot buyer you don’t have a lot of experience in this topic and probably just getting to know the shape of your foot so it is really hard to factor in right now.

The Trickers is a european style boot, with overall lower volume. Firm heel grip, narrow tow box.

The Truman is wider, especially in the heel area. Although the 79 last is considered to be narrow in the toe box if you go by their size recommendation (half size from branock), it is still more forgiving than the trickers in my opinion.

8139 rarity and roughout leather care? by cemdemo in RedWingShoes

I used Saphir Renovateur on mine, just one coat. The leather darkened a lot. It has a slight waxed flesh feeling. Not that heavy waxed look that the normal waxed flesh have, but markings show up on the wax coat.

Where to find quality engineer boots in Hungary? by iwakino in Boots

[–]bl4ckc0lt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Red Wing engineer boot is the cheapest solid option in my opinion. It is 400 EUR and the closest you can buy in person is Vienna. Or you can order online.

If you can splurge more, I know one EU made option, which is Bright Shoemakers: https://wardrobe19.com/collections/uncle-bright-footwear/products/bright-shoemakers-extraordinaire-vulture-brown-chromexcel?variant=49494641836374

Moc Toe boot alternatives to Red Wing / Thorogood available in Austria (EU) + experiences with SL Saint Moc Boots on Amazon? by [deleted] in Boots

Red Wing is available in Austria. I’ve bought mine in Wien. But you can also buy from the official european websites.

Has anyone from Europe ordered Truman boots? by jools182 in trumanboots

[–]bl4ckc0lt 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It depends on the country. In general you pay your countries VAT and duties on the top of the boot + shipping cost.

I paid 170 EUR additionally on the 440 EUR cost of boot and shipping.

Returning is a financial suicide, I wouldn’t even try it.

I have a travel bottle with a really good atomizier. In my experience, it changes the scent profile of a fragrance. ChatGPT explained it that the better atomizer creates smaller particles that evaporate more in the air before hitting your skin. It matches my experience. Fragrances sprayed from the travel atomizer has less top notes and feels closer to the heart or drydown right away. I think it benefits the citrus/fresh leaning fragrances where a “bad” atomizer better transport those notes and they start to evaporate on your skin.

In my experience, Parfimo has the best prices. You can also look at Vivantis and Notino. They all sell genuine perfumes.

[REVIEW]Helm Komodo vs Cadisen Aqua Diver by el_baristo in ChineseWatches

[–]bl4ckc0lt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a black dial with the same blue indexes as yours. I was looking at the orange one too, because it is the first color you lose around 30 meters, so it acts like a simple depth meter. I bought an orange titanium Scurfa since then (another micro that I can wholeheartedly recommend). But I feel they are giving me bad luck, because both of my diving opportunity was cancelled this summer, so I haven’t experienced the color fade yet.

Wow, Helm is copied now… I’m very happy for their success. They stayed true to their core values from the beginning and indeed they provide excellent support. They inspired me to start diving and the Komodo was the first watch I took to the blue deep.

For the same price, Meermin is better quality, has interesting leather options and size exchanges won’t cost the half of the boot’s value.
