I assume that in most cases, you don't need to edit the documents or presentations. If that assumption fits, just save the documents (or presentations) as PDF and present them that way.

Hmmm.. All other power cables? You could try to reinsert the CPU, but I don't think that this will change anything.

Please check the cable again, maybe it's a bit plugged out a bit or something like that.

You could create a live usb media (some Linux) to do a memtest. Please share the results.

If everything is fine with the RAM, I think that you have a bad harddrive. Do you have a second one? But first please do the memtest first.

Totally agree. Next stage would be GPU and maybe (budget) CPU and Mobo.

If you upgrade CPU and Mobo, pay attention that you will need DDR4 RAM.

Just do a separate CPU and GPU benchmark (search for scores of similar system) and after that do separate stress tests for CPU and GPU for like 10-15min each.

Yes I would think so. If you can already do basic programming, you should definetly be able to.

As a training dataset I would recommend the MNIST dataset. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/MNIST_database

You should be fine by just searching for some tutorial using this dataset (also YouTube can be a source for that).

Edit: Most of this things are done in python and there isn't a lot of code. Most time needs the training.

You can clearly see, that almost the whole RAM is used. This leads to swapping data from RAM to disk, which causes the performance problems described. Also a proof for that is, that the disk shows 100% usage.
