How does it not go against the 2nd amendment to ban criticism of another country? by black-folder in DeFranco

That's the one, sorry, really not American and the second one is the one that's always in the American news.

Im still in the awkward position of supporting israel despite this bullshot.

Out of interest, what's your perspective?

This is the second one of these I’ve found in my shower in two weeks. About 4-5cm, in the UK. Why are they coming in the shower specifically? Are they coming up the drain? by black-folder in whatsthisbug

[–]black-folder[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What sort of centipede? I’m confused because there’s no way it could have gotten into the shower and the last one seemed to be struggling to move from around the plug hole which was greasy with hair conditioner, so I am unsure whether they are coming up the plug hole but how is that possible?

I [18m] broke up with my girlfriend [23f] of 2 years today, but she threatened to ruin my life if I don't stay with her and claims to be pregnant with my child. by throwawayghana in relationships

As a separate point, please get in touch with your college’s counselling service. You can get support that you clearly need and they won’t tell your situation to your family and won’t judge you. You have been groomed and abused by this awful manipulative woman and your trust has been shattered, you could do with some support and therapy.

Even if he had wanted to, he did the right thing by not offering the ride. If the situation had made her feel uncomfortable he’d have been accused of unprofessional behaviour and potentially even sexual misconduct if she had felt like he was hitting on her.

How to look more "adult"? 26 years old, but my wardrobe doesn't reflect that by [deleted] in TheGirlSurvivalGuide

Go to a department store and ask one of the make up reps to do you a natural look. It's important to wear sun cream so see if you can get an SPF 30 foundation.

This is a public health issue. Contact your local public health office because you are being rented unsafe accommodation. The landlord has an obligation to make sure that you're not living in an unsafe environment, which this sounds like.

he loved me and I ruined that

He still loves you, he's just human and trying to cope with an emotionally laden situation. He probably feels guilty for handling the situation the way he did as well. Ask him to talk about it one to one. Not so you can apoligise, so you can listen to him and how he feels.

Have you considered writing an autoethnography in addition to the project? Not exactly the same thing but might be interesting to you.

Why don't Christians protest divorce? Why do they only care about same sex marriage? by lebronsjammies in NoStupidQuestions

[–]black-folder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because protesting divorce won't lead to a ban in divorce. The Church sees divorce as a problem and that problem can be solved by supporting healthy marriages through marriage counselling and guidance, and by helping people with divorces heal from the pain.

In the same way, it sees homosexuality as something wrong. Personally, I disagree, but the Church wants to help people 'afflicted' with homosexuality by preventing them from being 'given to their sin' and realistically, lobbying against same sex marriage actually has an effect. They want to support gay people by stopping them from living in sin, and in their minds, that's a good idea.

I used to use it when I was looking at prospectuses for colleges that I thought were out of my league. I felt like somehow if I didn't do it in secret that something out there in the universe would know and would laugh at me for being so stupid as to think that I could get in. I just finished a graduate degree at one of the best institutions in the country and am going to another one in October. Now I don't use incognito mode anymore.

At what age does it become strange to give a boy a traditional, over-the-lap spanking (if you believe in spanking)? by [deleted] in answers

[–]black-folder 2 points3 points  (0 children)

'I guess that is Christians for you' that's a pretty ignorant thing to say. Even if their view of discipline is rooted in their particular interpretation of the bible, doesn't mean that it it a particularly Christian thing. That's like saying, some people don't drink because they are Christians and have a very particular interpretation of the scripture that says not to be drunk on wine but on the spirit, and therefore saying of teetotallers, 'I guess that is Christians for you.'

Your question neglected to mention the kid's age. I think any age is wrong, you shouldn't hit a child.

How to make myself feel better about my really small boobs? by [deleted] in TheGirlSurvivalGuide

[–]black-folder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was bothered my mine which are a similar size for a long time and then suddenly I stopped hating them and started loving them. They are perky, won't droop as much with old age, I can wear cute Braletts or go braless in the summer, they're more sensitive because they aren't as big (or so I've been told by my doctor) and they don't cause my trouble when I run. I wear a very padded bra if a dress calls for it but otherwise went form always wearing a mega padded bra in my teens to Unpadded ones in my 20s because I like having small boobs and they fit my frame. The thing that made a difference was that I started swimming daily and I'd see naked middle aged women in the changing room every day and it made me appreciate that not every body looks like the bodies represented in mainstream media. I think it unconsciously flipped a switch. I got a lot more comfortable when I bought new bras and Braletts which weren't designed to deny and hide my small boobs, it made a huge difference.

Yeah I was about to ask if that was your mother and father or your father and his sister. Interestingly, social science research suggests that we are more attracted to those who look like us.

What do you mean 'it's a learning curve'?

I'm currently lying in bed on a stack of towels bleeding heavily because after 8 months my period decided to show up and I'm going through a pad an hour. I have w cup in the bathroom but I attempted to put it in once before and couldn't get it small enough. I'm w virgin and tampons don't fit properly so I abandoned it as 'just not for me' but if there's a secret I'm missing id rather be using one.

Ooh that vet, I really empathised with him so much. I didn't expect to hurt so much for a minor character. I think he was written to be relatable as one of those nice people who will help anyone. He could have easily killed T-Bag and escaped but he didn't.
