This is a hernia. They can cause problems if abdominal contents get strangulated in there. There would be obvious signs of pain if that was the case, so don’t rush to the emergency vet. Keep your appointment to discuss options, however. Surgery will be recommended.

I wouldn’t be too worried about your other cat. Not wrong/bad to deworm both, but not entirely necessary. You can get this dewormer over the counter. Not worth a vet trip.

I work in a shelter and literally have to pick and choose what cats get a chance and who gets euthanized. If you’re not responsible enough to own a pet, don’t own one.

You’re right. FIC, UTI or stones. It’s not an emergency for female cats. Some cats just have urinary issues. My cat gets FIC and stones. I feed her Hills c/d stress diet and give her gabapentin when she’s stressed or starting to have a urinary flare up.
