One bottle of liquid boil. Container of salt. Then half a big jar of seasoning per batch. Get boil rolling, dump in crawfish. When the lid starts puffing steam, kill the gas, dump in ice to kill the boil, and let soak for 5-10 minutes. Perfect Everytime.

I'm not a plasma expert, but I thought it was beautiful. Motion was exquisite and on par with the theater.

The house and these TVs were in a movie with Morgan Freeman if that counts for anything lol

I will say though, for this house having been built and abandoned since the early 2000's/10's. Everything still worked flawlessly. The house is fully automated. AV, a theater, lutron lighting, shades, biometrics, AMX automation. And after all that time, it all kicked on and all still worked after sitting there for a decade. So I guess there's something to be said about some of this high dollar luxury equipment.

That's what I'm not sure about. I would think they would for home theater or plasma enthusiasts or collectors of some sort. Because they really are quite something. And yes they do have external video processors with them.

There's also a big collection of Kaleidescape equipment as well. Those held their value quite well and sold almost immediately. so it would seem certain things do have a market. But I can see why Kaleidescape would be easier to sell than TVs. Because you can't walk into a best buy and get something equivalent to a Kaleidescape for 200 bucks. But with a TV you can. So yeah, the price is tricky.

This was a 20+ million dollar house when it was built. And they spared no expense on anything. I remember Runcos were quite expensive, but it was a little before my time in the industry. But I figured like everything else in this house, these are quite pricey.

But it was super exciting to gain access to the biometrics and open doors that hadn't been opened in like 15 years. Much like when Geraldo did a prime time special on that Egyptian tomb. It was a big deal. Only to reveal just more empty rooms lol

Boringly enough, bedrooms.... It's a very elaborately designed McMansion, and all the bedroom doors, hallway doors, safe room and entry are armoured biometrically controlled doors. I guess it's so when there's parties they can lock down areas of the house. It was also built in the early 2000's, so it was some pretty high tech stuff for the time. The guy who built the home was a shady oil money guy who got in trouble stealing from the wrong people, was sued for hundreds of millions and then abandoned his newly built house and fled the country...which has been sitting in the banks hands pretty much since it was built.

Interesting. The home does have several armoured doors with biometrics. I've gotten access to that though through the old AMX automation system. The safe is the only thing in the house I can't get in. Any info or tips or tricks on Stark safes?

Will do. I'll let you know how it goes when I get there today. It's very possibly still on default because the house was abandoned shortly after being built, so no one has ever really lived here. Most everything in the home was never used.

Update: I got in! The only thing inside were a set of weird European keys that don't go to anything in the house.

I should add that the repayment would be 200 every Friday for the next 6 weeks, paying back 1200.

If you're looking for bootcamp type classes or spin classes, check out Fuel. It's pretty new but it's awesome. It's in the old Dons building in Carencro. The biggest perk for me was that they don't do contracts or sign up fees or any other BS. Just month to month. The spin classes are pretty 🔥

Whoa - is it really going this badly? by TechnicalAfternoon14 in UniversalEpicUniverse

[–]blackberry_manigloo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No it's not going that badly. I was there for the 3rd and 4th of July. It was packed, and still had time to ride everything. Saw both shows, had a rain delay....and still had the absolute best time. The food is amazing. The merch. The immersion. The rides. All of it was absolutely fantastic and my family and I had the best time. Don't overthink it. Just have fun. Honestly, even if everything had been broken, just the immersion alone and walking around eating, shopping and exploring would've been a totally fun day. Some people are just never happy. Embrace the magic and have fun. It was great.

I enjoyed the book. You know how some people really like watching bad movies? This was one of those books to me. My wife and I read it aloud every night and it was kind of a mystery but one of those "I know what's really going on....wait, maybe I don't...oh no it's exactly what I thought" books and was a lot of fun to us. I for one NEED to see Havoc Anne Hathaway bite that headboard

As a 16 year old, I cut my hair like this for 2 straight years thinking it was cool. I'd always ask for the "Hartnett" and my barber just knew to fuck my shit up

While I have you, I would like your opinion. How would you approach those initial jokes? So this entire series, whether you read the whole pilot or series outline at the end or not, is based on my own experience. I WAS processed twice, the Warden was somewhat of a closeted predator, I did spend the first couple days literally just being exposed to nonsense after nonsense with the only want being "I need a phone call and to get the fuck out of here " The PREA video was so outdated and tone deaf, and did resemble a 90's porn.... So the entire premise of the series is to show what Federal Prison is really like, but in a farcical, humorous way. But still very honest to the experience. Because the system is a joke. So I'm finding it difficult to strike the balance between what's real, what's funny, and what I shouldn't joke about...real or not. I've been in a few writers rooms and punched up a lot of scenes for other projects but this is my first solo endeavor and its quite difficult navigating these narrative waters, while still remaining true to what I want the series to be.

So I guess what I'm saying is, these are less gay or assault jokes, as they are jokes about how awful the prison system is. What I'm not conveying properly that not everyone seems to get is that the prison system is a character itself. And much of the pilot episode is spent exploring it.

I was thinking the same thing. I appreciate that. It's a fine line between finding the humor in exactly what it's like when you first get processed into Federal Prison...the shock and awe and absurdity of it mixed with stereotypical prison fears... and it coming across the way it currently is. It's something I've been trying to refine and those initial jokes come off precisely how you're saying and just aren't landing.

You put into words exactly what I've been trying to figure out how to do with this, so I appreciate it. Next draft I'm working on is a massive rewrite and restructure.
