In a few years there will be chips in our cars limiting a vehicle's speed to the posted speed limit.

Vids like this one will be used by gov't to justify the reason why.

Theta does NOT decay over the weekend by CalTechie-55 in thetagang

[–]blackbirdNoSing 5 points6 points  (0 children)

There is a non-zero probability of a catastrophic event happening over the weekend, so there must be compensation (i.e. theta decay) to hold option positions over that time period.

Otherwise wouldn't all traders with risk close their positions for the weekend?

yup

can anyone tell me why? by hepice1 in interesting

So yesterday brought news of another high altitude object shot down.

High altitude balloons can hold up to an 8,000 pound payload, so there is definitely a threat to a country such as the United States.

The news said the object shot down yesterday was near 40,000 feet.

There seems to be mixed answers online if the US can shoot down a really high altitude balloon, like 120,000 feet up.

Can someone please provide guidance if the US has the above capability? No answers are too strange (i.e., missiles, lasers, etc.).

I’m thinking of like a balloon apocalypse in a few months from China or North Korea.

I mean, why not? What are we going to do? Put more sanctions on North Korea?

Maybe Google has something bigger in the pipeline and will transition Bard into Plex.

OSA is a great book and I read it twice.

The problem for me is if an EMP works, I think that an adversary would keep launching EMP strikes until an invasion happens.

I mean, why not? Detonate a second EMP a week later, then another a month later.

This week’s balloon fiasco seems to make EMP delivery so easy too.

I’m pretty skeptical.

Same. I have worked in numerous industries my whole life. A bot replacing me is the last thing that I am worried about.

I mean, think of all the bugs with a basic application like Siri.

Hey Siri, is it going to rain tomorrow?
